Schlafly Calls On RNC To Affirm Commitment To Traditional Marriage

Leading pro-family advocate and President of Eagle Forum, Phyllis Schlafly, has requested that the Republican National Committee reaffirm their position in opposition to same-sex marriage.

Phyllis SchlaflySchlafly, a member of the 2012 National GOP Platform Committee and a delegate to the National Convention, said that, “The 2012 plank endorsed and applauded traditional marriage. The endorsement of same-sex marriage is unacceptable. We call on RNC members to pass a resolution at its next meeting reaffirming its support of the 2012 platform plank on marriage and of the Defense of Marriage Act.”

Schlafly made the request in a letter to Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus, the full text of which is below:

March 1, 2013

Hon. Reince Priebus, Chairman
Republican National Committee
310 First Street, SE
Washington, DC 20003

Dear Reince,

The 2012 Republican Party Platform, adopted by our National Convention, states emphatically:

"Congressional Republicans took the lead in enacting the Defense of Marriage Act, affirming the right of States and the federal government not to recognize same-sex relationships licensed in other jurisdictions. The current Administration’s open defiance of this constitutional principle . . . makes a mockery of the President’s inaugural oath.. . . We applaud the citizens of the majority of states which have enshrined in their constitutions the traditional concept of marriage. . . .

"The institution of marriage is the foundation of civil society. Its success as an institution will determine our success as a nation. It has been proven by both experience and by endless social science studies that traditional marriage is best for children . . . ."

We expect all Republican officials to support the Platform. The endorsement of same-sex marriage is not acceptable.

In view of the pro-gay-marriage brief filed this week by a group of mostly Republican has-beens, we call on the Republican National Committee to consider passing a resolution, at its next meeting, re-affirming its support of the Platform and of the Defense of Marriage Act, which was overwhelmingly passed by Congress. I view this as extremely important to the credibility of the Republican Party to the millions of American families who constitute the very base of the Party.

Support of marriage of one woman to one man

I am so sick and tired of all these gays coming up with everything under the sun about what they are entiled too.  Just because our President is gay doesn't mean everyone should be.  Let's get this settled one amnd for all.  No two men or two women can make a bably.  I really feel sorry for the bably or child when they get older.  I am tired  hearing about the gays in the schools, boy scouts it is just hearing about them that really bothers me.
