It’s the Primaries, Stupid! Palin Endorses Katrina Pierson in Texas 32

Pierson and Palin

Grassroots conservative icon Sarah Palin has endorsed boat-rocking conservative Katrina Pierson for the Republican nomination for Congress in Texas District 32, the seat currently held by top establishment Republican and Boehner henchman Pete Sessions.

Palin called Pierson a "feisty fighter" who is "an emerging leader and important voice for the future of the grassroots conservative movement."

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has likewise called Pierson “an utterly fearless principled conservative.” Pierson traveled across the state for Cruz to get him elected, even when Cruz was at 2% in the polls in his GOP Texas Senate primary in 2012.

"Her life’s story is full of hardships she has fought to overcome, which taught her firsthand the importance of self-reliance, hard work, and the blessings of liberty," Palin said. "A feisty fighter for freedom, Katrina is taking on a powerful incumbent who has so lost touch with the people of his district that he’s not even bothering to spend much time in Texas anymore.”

Indeed, as our friends Tony Lee and Brandon Darby at Breitbart report Pierson is a single mother who overcame tremendous adversity and bettered her life. She worked her way from poverty into becoming a healthcare administrator at a Level 1 trauma hospital in downtown Dallas.

Katrina Pierson’s life story is compelling, but that’s not why we like Pierson.

We like Katrina Pierson because she’s on the attack against Pete Sessions, his betrayals of conservative principles and his Washington insider cronyism. And we think she is exactly the kind of candidate we need to elect to change what’s going on in Washington and hold the federal government within strict constitutional bounds.

"The national Left has chosen to focus on Texas in their efforts to turn our great state blue. We, as Republicans need to hold our leadership accountable and elect fighters who are up for the struggle— not complacent politicians," Pierson said report Lee and Darby. "I will work day and night against the unconstitutional efforts of the Democratic Party and their friends in the Republican Party."

Pierson has also attacked Sessions for living part of the time in Florida, and Palin agreed that Sessions is "not only his district he’s lost touch with," but also with the "the issues important to the voters there."

"He used his powerful position to oppose the movement to defund Obamacare, has voted to raise the debt ceiling, and has been an advocate for the NSA intrusion into our freedoms," Palin said. "When asked about Katrina’s primary challenge, he said, 'these things happen.' Yes, they do. We all know what happens when we come together to support a good candidate like Katrina – the permanent political class loses and We the People win!"

Pierson has also attacked Sessions for voting to increase raise the debt ceiling, being in favor of amnesty and supporting the Wall Street bailouts. Lee and Darby report Senator Ted Cruz's father, Rafael, Michelle Malkin, and the Tea Party Express have also endorsed Pierson's upstart candidacy.

Palin Endorsements

I couldn't be happier with Palin's endorsement of Katrina Pierson. Pierson is just the kind of "New Conservative" we need to replace the Republican "establishment" in DC. My complaint is .... why are Palin, Levin, Hannity, and other "conservatives" so stingy with their endorsements. There are 50-60 "rock-ribbed Conservatives" across the county challenging Moderate and RINO Republican incumbents in senate and congressional primary races. So why not SPEAK UP? An endorsement by someone like Palin, Hannity, Limbaugh or Levin could put these PATRIOTS on the map. Glenn Beck is doing his part to bring attention to these challengers. Most are running in "David vs. Goliath" races where, if their constituents just knew of their existence and their views on the issues, they'd win by double digit margins. Instead, they're often out-spent ten to one by corporate sponsored Moderates and RINO's.
I'd like to see ConservativeHQ do three profiles each week on these young Conservatives who are challenging incumbent "elites." Heaven knows, the mainstream media will do everything possible to hide these candidates from the pubic eye. Then .... let's all commit to send each candidate profiled a small donation, even if it's only ten dollars. The way I see it, you can spend $30 a week for the next seven months, or .... the government will take a hundred times that amount out of your earnings or net worth in the future.

Bashing Republicans

I'm not sure about any other TP & RP member but I am getting sick and tired of pundits kicking at Boehner and McConnell.
The realities of their political situation is two against one. You have the Senate and President stifling every effort of the RP to get anything done.
The TP is acting like Don Quixote battling with the President. To what gains? Basically NONE!
So who do they blame? The RP.
Hey! haven't they heard there is a Democratic administration which doesn't allow even any of the RP house passed legislation to even get to the floor of the Senate. Even if it does the President will veto it.
Stop the infighting and work at taking over the Senate in 2014 and the Presidency in 2016.
The Democrats rub their hands in glee as they watch conservative pundits and the TP take shots at the RP.
Boy, that is really going to win elections?
Palin has the right idea. Support candidates of conservative ilk to win.
Tell conservative pundits to take on the Democrats not the RP attempting to be pragmatic in almost a no win situation.

They're supposed to be leaders

Leaders SHOULD be held to higher standards. Leaders SHOULD be held accountable.

Boehner and McConnell deserve all the kicking they're getting because they are not leading.

They are following the Democrats around, being led by the nose. They are NOT standing up for those who elected them. They are NOT standing up for the principles of the party.

And THEY are kicking those who do fight the Dems and who do stand up for the people who elected them.

They have no sympathy from me.
