Obama Plays For The Other Team: Won’t Say Radical Islam Is the Enemy

State Dept Sees No Islamic Evil

The media obsession with why President Obama didn’t go or send a high ranking official to the Paris march memorializing those killed last week by the Muslim terrorists masks a far deeper and more important betrayal of America and the West by the present occupant of the White House.

By refusing to name the enemy – and the strict Islamic beliefs favored by millions of Muslims around the world are the enemy because they are inimical to liberty as we understand it and have enshrined it in our Constitution – Obama directly aids those Islamic supremacists who are right now today working to undermine Western civilization generally, and especially constitutional government here in America.

Islamic terrorism may be the most challenging issue of our time, but as Fox News’ Bernard Goldberg noted, “Barack Obama can’t bring himself to utter those two words, side by side. For a while, he wouldn’t even call terrorism … terrorism. Imagine if FDR refused to talk about the Nazi menace but instead tiptoed around the subject and talked instead about “extremism.”  Wouldn’t that seem … odd?”

This is a president says Goldberg who won’t even acknowledge that the Islamic State is … Islamic. Despite the fact that the stated goal of the ISIS jihadists is to create a caliphate in the Middle East, President Obama said the organization “is not Islamic.” He also said they’re not even part of the Muslim religion.

You have to wonder if Obama thinks that by not linking the words Islamic and terrorism that somehow Islamic terrorism doesn’t really exist. Howard Dean, another so-called progressive, recently said on MSNBC (where else?) that those that many of us call Muslim terrorists are not really Muslims because Islam is a religion of peace. George Orwell must be smiling concluded Goldberg.

Perhaps the most astonishing examples of Obama’s intentional surrender to Islamic supremacy have been the contortions in which his spokesmen and women have engaged to avoid using the words “Muslim” and “Islam” or “Islamic” in any public statement regarding the Paris murders or any Muslim terrorism-related events here at home.

When Kelly File guest host Martha MacCallum confronted State Department deputy spokeswoman Marie Harf about why the White House won’t openly say that radical Islam specifically is a major threat to the world. Harf told MacCallum that Islamic extremism is “not the only kind of extremism we face,” though when pressed to name other examples of troubling extremism, she simply said people all over the world want to kill each other for a “variety of causes.”*

Here’s the transcript (video link below):

MARTHA MACCALLUM, "KELLY FILE" GUEST HOST: Every time we see this exchange it seems like the answer is so tortured. Like it's so difficult to say what everybody around the world seems to feel so clearly it is. And what the leaders have said in Canada and Australia and Paris where they have felt it potently and personally, they've all said quite clearly the battle is against Islamic extremism. Why is that so hard to say?

MARIE HARF, STATE DEPARTMENT: Well, it's not hard to say, but it's not the only kind of extremism we face. I would recommend folks looking at this administration's counter-terrorism record. I would remind people that more terrorists who claim to do acts of violence in the name of Islam have been taken off the battlefield in this administration than other any previous one because of our counterterrorism operations and our efforts that we put in place. But that's not the only way you counter this kind of extremism. Much of it Islamic, you're absolutely right. But some of it not. So we're going to focus on all the different kinds of extremism with a heavy focus on people who do this in the name of Islam, we would say falsely in the name of Islam, but there are other forms of extremism --

MACCALLUM: Tell me, what other forms of extremism are particularly troubling and compelling to you right now?

HARF: Well, look, there are people out there who want to kill other people in the name of a variety of causes. Of course, Martha, we are most focused on people doing this in the name of Islam. And we've talked about with ISIL, part of our strategy to counter this extremism is to have other moderate Muslim voices stand up and say they don't represent our religion. They speak for their religion more than we do certainly and we need those voices to stand up. In addition to all the other efforts we're undertaking.

MACCALLUM: I just think a lot of other countries probably listen to the way we're talking about this and scratch their heads and wonder why it's so hard to spit it out in a lot of these conversations.

Note that MacCallum repeatedly told Harf there is a “common thread” in terrorist attacks all over the world that the administration appears to have some reluctance admitting. Harf called that viewpoint “overly simplistic” and argued there are different groups all over the world the U.S. has to combat differently.

We are trying to remember one “group” beside radical Islam that the U.S. has confronted or combatted since Obama became president and we can’t come up with one – unless Harf was thinking of the notorious Homeland Security memo designating returning American veterans, Tea Partiers and Christians as potential terrorists.

How can a religion that calls for the death of anyone who doesn't agree with it, peaceful? How can that be overlooked?

Christianity is the only "religion" that says to love your enemy, do good to him and let him see the love of Christ Jesus through the good that you do for others. It is also the only religion that has a savior that paid for your sins, your debt is paid. The change in your life comes when you become grateful for all that Jesus has done for you and you accept His offer of eternal life with Him.
