Governor, I Demand You Act To End Illegal “Sanctuary Cities” In Our State
So-called sanctuary cities, where local officials refuse to fulfill their constitutional responsibilities to cooperate with federal authorities to enforce immigration laws are a magnet for the illegal aliens who are destroying the quality of life in our state.
Here are a few examples compiled by Breitbart News from a Government Accountability Office study:
Between 2008 and 2014, 40% of all murder convictions in Florida were criminal aliens. In New York it was 34% and Arizona 17.8%.
During those years, criminal aliens accounted for 38% of all murder convictions in the five states of California, Texas, Arizona, Florida and New York, while illegal aliens constitute only 5.6% of the total population in those states.
That 38% represents 7,085 murders out of the total of 18,643.
According to CNN last year at least 10,182 criminal aliens were put back on the streets by “sanctuary” policies.
Do you know the numbers for our state?
If you don’t, you have been inexcusably negligent.
And if you do, and have not acted to end the “sanctuary cities” policies of localities in our state, you are an accomplice to the murders, rapes and other crimes that are the direct result of your lack of action.
The murder of Kate Steinle in San Francisco this past summer exposed only the tip of a massive iceberg, and liberal establishment politicians and the media are desperate to avoid dealing with the iceberg underneath.
I demand you take action to end state funding of any jurisdiction that claims to be a “sanctuary” for illegal aliens.
As a citizen I demand that you stop being part of the cover-up of the tsunami of illegal alien crime that has destroyed the lives and families of so many innocent Americans; join Texas Governor Greg Abbott in his commitment to withhold funding from any jurisdiction in our state that purports to be a “sanctuary” for illegal aliens.
Last year at least 10,182 criminal aliens were put back on the streets by “sanctuary” policies - stop the madness - sign the petition!
