Paul Ryan at the Center of DC’s Culture of Lies

In the tight Wisconsin Republican Primary race between insurgent limited government constitutional conservative businessman Paul Nehlen and incumbent establishment Republican Speaker of the House Paul Ryan one thing is clear: there’s no lie too big or too small Ryan and his supporters won’t tell to try to save his seat in Congress.

There is no more compelling evidence of just how far the American political system has been corrupted by Washington’s insider culture, than how common and accepted lying has become among the political elite of Capitol Hill.

Paul RyanAnd this is particularly true of Paul Ryan and how he has dealt with the budget.

Take for example the lie in April 2011 that when Ryan, who had promised $100 billion in real spending cuts, compromised with the Democrats for $38.5 billion in future savings the deal would result in "the biggest annual spending cut in history," as President Obama termed it.

Yet, as Senator Jim DeMint later noted, there was no reduction in spending, here’s what really happened when the fiscal year ended on September 30, 2011 – the Congressional Budget Office found that the April deal to avoid a government shutdown resulted in an increase of more than $170 billion in federal spending from 2010 to 2011.

Hailed by Paul Ryan and other leaders of both political parties and the establishment media, as a historic compromise that produced “largest spending cut in history” the deal ended up being a spending increase and the federal government wrapped up its biggest spending year and its second biggest annual budget deficit ever but, as The Wall Street Journal put it, almost nobody noticed.

Perhaps The Journal should have said no one noticed the lie upon which the spending deal was founded, because Paul Ryan and everyone on the inside knew there would be no decrease in spending and the historic or as liberal Democrats falsely termed them, “draconian budget cuts” would actually result in the federal government spending $3.6 trillion – a 4.2 percent increase in outlays that also increased the annual deficit to $1.298 trillion.

When Nehlen made Ryan’s support for expanding immigration and amnesty for illegal aliens issues in the campaign Ryan blanketed the district with mailers touting his opposition to both – a claim that is demonstrably false given Ryan’s record and his statements during his lovefest with illegal alien advocate Illinois Congressman Luis Gutiérrez.

According to Gutiérrez 10 years ago Ryan played a role in the George W. Bush effort to draft an immigration bill in the House. During his whirlwind tour of Chicago with Gutiérrez, Ryan spoke about the economic benefits that immigration "reform" could bring to the U.S. omitting any mention of the devastation the tidal wave of legal and illegal immigrants has visited upon the quality of life for America's working families.

Which of course begs the question why would conservatives want a Republican Speaker of the House whose policy objectives are the same as Hillary Clinton, the Democratic candidate for President?

Yet if Paul Ryan is reelected that’s exactly what Republicans would get, especially on amnesty for illegal immigrants and the open borders corporate-sponsored mass immigration policies that are wrecking the quality of life for millions of American families.

But the big lies Paul Ryan is telling about the budget and immigration are supported by hundreds – if not thousands – of little lies.

As the race between Nehlen and Ryan has gotten tighter and become nationalized Speaker Ryan has all but disappeared from the public stage, refusing to hold open press events and refusing to meet with constituents and the parents of children killed by illegal aliens.

Yet his spokesman Zack Roday was been telling Breitbart News all last week that Ryan would, in fact, be doing open press events with the voters of Wisconsin’s first congressional district — the constituents he purportedly represents — between last week and the election tomorrow.

Naturally, Roday refused time and again to say when they would actually be, only telling Breitbart News that there would be such an event and an advisory would be sent out when the “logistics” of it are worked out. When asked directly Roday refused to answer on what day such an event would happen, and, as Breitbart Washington Editor Matthew Boyle put it, “now that Sunday has come and gone, that simply leaves Monday — the last day before the election — for any such events.”

And to the surprise of no one who is familiar with Paul Ryan’s record of arrogance and lies as of 6:00 a.m. Monday morning Roday and Ryan still have announced no such open-to-press events with the voters of the district.

See this article in Breitbart for more on the astonishing lies and shallowness of Ryan and his advocate Wisconsin Assemblywoman Samantha Kerkman.

In his lies and arrogant dismissal of conservative populist concerns about Obama’s secret trade deal, in his outright lies about its provisions, and especially in his angry advocacy of establishment Republican corporatism that would continue the destruction of the aspirations of America’s working families, blindly hand President Obama the power to deal away American sovereignty and bypass Congress on a host issues from expanding immigration to “climate change,” we think, after 18-years, Paul Ryan has disqualified himself from representing the people of Wisconsin Congressional District 1.

The Wisconsin Republican primary election is tomorrow, August 9. We urge limited government constitutional conservatives and all other voters in Wisconsin Congressional District 1 who want a Congressman who represents the interests of American workers and their families to go to the polls tomorrow, August 9, and vote for Paul Nehlen to replace Paul Ryan as their Representative in Congress.

Oust all RINOs

Ryan and the rest of his fake "republican" ilk must be voted out or congress will continue t5o do the World Government bidding that is so strongly pushed by the socialist/Marxist left.

No problem with this article

No problem with this article at all. It is telling the truth about Lyin' Ryan. Ryan has betrayed conservatives every chance he has gotten. He may as well change his party affiliation to Democrat since he has given Obummer everything he wanted. He needs to go just like Boehner did. It is time to get rid of all of these traitors or our Country is over.

Too far

I have known Richard for years and been a subscriber to CHQ since the beginning, and also I am as conservative as it gets.

This sort of vitriolic, accusational language does a disservice to our cause. If we keep making the perfect the enemy of the good then no two people will be able to work together in Washington. I don't want to unsubscribe because I appreciate knowing Richard's view of things, but that is becoming less and less true by the day.

Please choose the higher road by encouraging and praising elected officials when they do right rather than kicking them in the gut when they make compromises! These punishing tactics don't work with children and they certainly don't work with congressmen.

And by the way, the fact that Hillary agrees with something does not inherently mean that it is bad! Most bills pass congress with more than 90% of the vote. An argument that automatically pits us against a person or people instead of evaluating issues on their merits is *exactly* what is wrong with Washington. This is not a game of sport, this is our beloved country. Let's start acting like adults.

No Waffling on Immigration

Based on Paul Ryan's (documented) activities concerning illegal immigration alone, I don't think he can be trusted. For me, illegal immigration is a key issue in politics. When you consider how much money illegal immigrants are costing taxpayers, how much danger they bring into our country -both in drug trafficking and uncontrolled diseases, and how many jobs they are taking from legal citizens, I don't see how anybody that considers himself or herself to be truly conservative would be willing to tolerate anything less from their politicians than doing everything they possibly can to immediately stop and reverse illegal immigration.

An even bigger concern is that many liberals think it's just fine, if not their goal, to allow these illegal aliens to vote in our elections. That right there keeps me up at night because, frankly, that is the beginning of the end -the rapidly approaching end.

We need to clean house, if repubs want to go RINO, them make them switch to the damn dems. If he is not with us them he is against us and should GO! We do not need open border guys. PERIOD!

We respect your wish for civil discourse

However, it is a fact that Speaker Ryan has regularly lied about the budget and about his support for amnesty for illegal aliens. Naturally we wish to keep you as a subscriber, but this is not a new topic for CHQ. Please see Mr. Viguerie's article from November 11, 2011 "A Congress of Lies"
