Kavanaugh FBI Report: No Hint Of Misconduct

The supplementary FBI background investigation requested by Senator Jeff Flake and agreed to by the bipartisan Senate leadership and the White House is sealed under a 2009 Memorandum of Agreement between the Senate and the Obama Administration.

At the beginning of the supplementary investigation even Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein, who Kavanaugh Confirmation Voteprecipitated the smear of Judge Brett Kavanaugh, recognized that it must be kept confidential to preserve the integrity of the investigation and the privacy of those who might be named in it.

However, that tune changed after Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, declared yesterday that nothing in the FBI document changed his mind, and that it was time to vote to confirm Kavanaugh.

“I’ve now received a committee staff briefing on the FBI’s supplement to Judge Kavanaugh’s background investigation file," Grassley said Thursday. "There’s nothing in it that we didn’t already know. These uncorroborated accusations have been unequivocally and repeatedly rejected by Judge Kavanaugh, and neither the Judiciary Committee nor the FBI could locate any third parties who can attest to any of the allegations.”

Grassley’s analysis hasn’t kept Democrats from falsely claiming that, as Democratic Minority Leader Charles Schumer of New York put it, "I disagree ... with Sen. Grassley's statement that there was no hint of misconduct.”

Of course, Schumer refused to answer follow-up questions as to what that misconduct might have been, because there was none documented in the FBI report.

And that is perhaps the most telling thing that has come out about the closely held supplemental background investigation, because we can be assured that if there were any bombshells in it, Democrats would have leaked them or cited them in their Thursday press conference.

Instead, they simply moved the goal posts again and demanded further delays.

As our friend Hans von Spakovsky noted in a piece for Fox News, the FBI’s new report supplements the sixth full-field FBI background investigation of Kavanaugh since 1993.

The claims being made by Democrats that the FBI was somehow limited or curtailed in its investigation because it didn’t have enough time to conduct the probe show a woeful ignorance of the resources of the agency and the extensive manpower it can bring to bear.

While this supplementary investigation looked at specific allegations made against Kavanaugh, the regular FBI background investigations Kavanaugh was subjected to earlier were very extensive, extremely thorough and open-ended. Such investigations often receive wide-ranging input from hundreds of people.

Nevertheless, Kavanaugh’s critics reject any report that doesn’t provide the politically damaging conclusion they seek. And this supplemental report, which gives Kavanaugh a clean bill of health, definitely did not come out as they wanted.

And that is the real issue here – it’s not about Brett Kavanaugh the individual human being, it is what Brett Kavanaugh represents that Democrats oppose.

And to successfully defeat what Brett Kavanaugh represents Democrats have chosen to try to destroy Brett Kavanaugh the individual – and his family.

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway described the accusations of sexual misconduct lodged against Brett Kavanaugh are part of a "vast left-wing conspiracy," and our friend Heather MacDonald of the Manhattan Institute observed that, “It is feminist narcissism to put flimsy accusations of teenage impropriety ahead of a lifetime of achievement in the law. The priorities look like a revenge attack on a civilization deemed too male.”

A “vast left-wing conspiracy” and “a revenge attack on a civilization deemed too male” are apt descriptions of what has been going on since Christine Blasey Ford’s allegations against Judge Brett Kavanaugh surfaced.

As we noted in our column “Democrats Have Nothing Left But Violence And Chaos To Defeat Brett Kavanaugh:”

Democrats, by their tactics in opposing Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination, have gone way beyond what has been, even for them, considered to be the base level of savagery and ruthlessness established in the Robert Bork and Clarence Thomas hearings. After this, there is nothing left but violence and chaos to enforce their will upon a country that rejected them at the ballot box.

We urge CHQ readers and friends to call Senators to urge Judge Kavanaugh’s prompt confirmation, starting with four Republicans who need shoring up. RESPECTFULLY urge them to vote to confirm Judge Kavanaugh:  Senators Lisa Murkowski of Alaska (202-224-6665) and Susan Collins of Maine (202-224-2523), Jeff Flake of Arizona (202-224-4521) and Ben Sasse of Nebraska (202-224-4224).

Kavanaugh hypocrisy

Dems are ready to condemn Judge Kavanaugh for an unconfirmed, suspect allegation that supposedly happened 36 years ago - which, even if guilty Kavanaugh would not have been old enough to be charged as an adult, yet Nancy Pelosi believes MS-13 should be exonerated because we're "all God's children." This in response to Trump calling them animals when in 2017 as many as 10 members of the MS-13 street gang lured a man into a park in Wheaton, Md., stabbed him more than 100 times, decapitated him and then cut out his heart. This is who Nancy is defending calling for compassion, yet she wants to throw Kavanaugh to the lions. Dems have ZERO moral values so to lie and slander at will, is good to them. They don't care about their constituents, or America, or Constitution, their desire is to go the way of the depraved world that they so admire, and make us a socialist territory of the EU. Job of SCOTUS is to simply interpret all cases brought before them in relation to Constitutional Laws. Kavanaugh is more than qualified to carry out that duty.
