When Evil Meets Stupid

Evil Meets Stupid
Democrats having been operating on the philosophy that they should never let a crisis go to waste and that they should never let an opportunity to damage President Trump go to waste.

So, it should probably not surprise us that the latest gambit Far Left progressives have deployed against Donald Trump is to blame him for some of the dumb things desperate people have done to try to protect themselves from coronavirus.

The most notable, and truly evil, example of this phenomena is the media and Democrat politician reaction to the sad fate of an Arizona couple.

From The (Santa Rosa, California) Press Democrat newspaper:

[An Arizona] couple in their 60s watched politicians and news anchors on TV tout chloroquine, an anti-malaria drug that has shown the ability to disrupt some viruses but that has not been proved effective against the novel coronavirus.

That pharmaceutical name matched the label on a bottle of chemicals they used to clean their koi pond, NBC News reported. The fish tank solvent that treats aquatic parasites contains the same active ingredient as the drug, but in a different form that can poison people.

"I saw it sitting on the back shelf and thought, 'Hey, isn't that the stuff they're talking about on TV?' " the wife, who was not named, told the network. "We were afraid of getting sick."

The couple reportedly poured some of the fish tank cleaning chemical, chloroquine phosphate, into soda and drank it. They hoped it would stave off a coronavirus infection.

"Within thirty minutes of ingestion, the couple experienced immediate effects" that sent them to the emergency room, a Banner Health spokeswoman said in a statement Monday. They felt dizzy and started vomiting. The husband died at the hospital, and the wife is under critical care, according to the statement.

This quickly morphed into headlines and tweets, such as this now-deleted tweet from liberal webnews service Axios:

A man has died after ingesting chloroquine phosphate – one of the anti-malarial drugs Trump has mentioned in recent days.

The left-leaning website BuzzFeed reported: “A Man Died After Self-Medicating With A Drug Trump Promoted As A Potential Treatment For The Coronavirus.” But after being criticized, as our friends at The Daily Wire noted, they changed the headline to the equally bad: “A Man Died After Self-Medicating With A Form Of A Drug That Trump Promoted As A Potential Treatment For The Coronavirus.”

Heidi Przybyla, an NBC News Correspondent we dealt with during our Capitol Hill days, went even further in her attempt to smear Trump, tweeting from her NBC News account @HeidiNBC:

Her husband is dead & she's in the ICU after ingesting chloroquine:

"We saw Trump on TV -- every channel -- & all of his buddies and that this was safe," she said.

"Trump kept saying it was basically pretty much a cure."

She implored @VaughnHillyard: "Educate the people"

One of the end results of the progressive media’s blatant attempts to smear Donald Trump using the incredibly dumb actions of these poor people in Arizona was that Nevada’s Democrat Governor Steve Sisolak quickly issued an executive order barring the use of anti-malaria drugs for someone who has the coronavirus.

The problem is that hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine, along with the antibiotic zithromax, are among the few drugs that have been shown to help coronavirus patients. And the Food and Drug Administration is approving those drugs for off-label use against the COVID-19 virus.

As Vice President Mike Pence explained Tuesday during the Fox News townhall, “the FDA [Food and Drug Administration] is approving off-label use for the [anti-malarial drug] hydroxychloroquine right now" to help coronavirus patients.

What’s more, during a news conference on Sunday, Sisolak’s fellow Democrat, New York’s Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo, announced that the state has acquired 70,000 doses of hydroxychloroquine, 10,000 doses of the antibiotic zithromax and 750,000 doses of chloroquine, with trials set to start Tuesday.

But the Far-Left Progressive Trump-hating news media and Democrat politicians, like Sisolak, get more clicks and political benefit when they smear Trump and undercut public confidence in the FDA, than they would if they educated the public that taking fish tank cleaning products can kill you.

There are internet rumors aplenty touting unproven coronavirus cures and preventatives that the media could be educating Americans to avoid. For the media to smear President Trump with this story, while undercutting confidence in one of the most promising means of fighting this new disease, is just plain evil.

Too stupid to keep breathing

I read that the stomach uses hydrochloric acid to digest food and I wanted to help my digestion so I drank a bottle of hydrochloric acid. It was Trump's fault.

Same sad story

The sheeple will believe what the MSM tells them and conclude incorrectly that Trump was wrong.

The rest of us realize that fish tank cleaner hardly qualifies as a drug of any sort and refrain from ingesting it...much as we do every day when tempted by tasty looking Tide pods.

With each swing and miss, the Dems diminish their relevance, expose thier ignorance, and prove that they really are not the party of Kennedy and his "Ask not..." philosophy.

Past time for term limits to enter the picture.
