The Vatican's Frightening Call for an End to Economic Freedom

The Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace has long been a source of radical political thinking within the Catholic Church. Today’s statement by the Council, “Towards Reforming the International Financial and Monetary Systems In The Context Of Global Public,” confirmed the radical Marxist economic agenda of the leftist intellectuals who hold sway there. Unofficial English translation http://www.radiovaticana.org/EN1/Articolo.asp?c=531752

Outside the classroom of a major university, it would be hard to find a more Marxism-based economic plan than the one espoused in today’s statement. Not only does it legitimize the various “Occupy” crowds, its criticism of capitalism goes beyond the Council’s past commentary on economics to call for nothing less than the abolition of economic freedom and the establishment of a new world economic system managed by the United Nations.

The plan, while couched in terms of a voluntary change for greater world good, would actually require that nations surrender their sovereignty to a new world body endowed with the authority to tax and manage all movement of capital between counties.

Unfortunately, by choosing the discredited United Nations as the vehicle to implement its call for a more just world economy, the Vatican statement demonstrated a distressing lack of connection with what has really gone on at the United Nations.

Gone would be the Constitutional protections of freedom, life and property that Americans now enjoy. In their place would be rules set by a new world governing body run by countries like Iran, Cuba, China and Saudi Arabia. If the United Nations Commission on Human Rights is any indication, implementing the Vatican statement would achieve exactly the opposite of the desired result.

Far from creating a more just world economic order and empowering the powerless, a supranational financial regulatory scheme run by the U.N. would deprive billions of people across the globe of their economic freedom and concentrate power in the hands of a few faceless international bureaucrats.

The Church intellectuals who advocate mixing Marxism and Christianity to achieve “social justice” never seem to get to the point where they reconcile the repression necessary to make Marx work with the spiritual freedom necessary to Christianity. As in the past, this latest effort to use inherently coercive secular tools to achieve the Church’s social goals is much more likely to undermine the moral authority of the Church than it is to achieve social justice.

I really don't want to make an article critique, but I think it's senseless to write about Vatican nowadays. They lost their audience year after an year. They are taking irrational steps to get that audience back. But that's the game they can't win.

The Vatican should follow the true teaching of Our Lord Jesus Christ. the Marxism denys two commandments of God.

Separation of church and state

The vatican should concern itself with matters of God and church and leave the matters of economic and political policy with the whims of man. When all is said and done God will have his say.

The Ancient History of Socialism and Christianity

While the mark of the Second Vatican Council was the takeover of the Catholic Church by Socialist authoritarians replacing monarchist authoritarians, the problem of socialist ideology in Christianity--not just the Roman Catholic kind--long predates both Vatican II and even Karl Marx.  It is an issue that goes all the way back to the earliest days of the church in the first century.  The issue would lay dormant for centuries and then come forth vehemently at critical times like in reaction to the rediscovery of Artistotle in the 1200s, the Reformation in the 1500s, and the present socialist push that goes back at least to the 1840s and the days of Charles Fourier, The Viscount de Saint Simon, Robert Owen, Pierre Joseph Proudhon, Victor Considerant, Louis Blanc, and Ferdinand Lasalle.

At its root lies a heretical "blob theology" attacked as early as the turn of the second century by St. Iraneus and an inacurate, but seemingly sensible, interpretation of parts of The Book of Revelations as calling for violent revolution to establish the millennium.

A great article on this history is "Karl Marx as Religious Eschatologist" by Murray Rothbard.  Whatever else one may think of Dr. Rothbard this is an excellent piece of historical research uncovering huge amounts of information that has been put down the Orwellian "memory hole."  This article is available on line from the Ludwig von Mises Institute.

Also important for understanding what is going on in the Roman Church, but even more so in the Episcopalian, some Lutheran synods, and other mainline churches is, of course philospher Eric Voegelin's "Gnosticism--The Nature of Modernity."

There are, of course, other articles and books tracing this history in ancient and modern times.  The churches have become rotten from within and reform and restoration is needed if Christianity is to face off both the socialist and islamist challenges.

Vatican call for world economy --

I highly recommend  Thomas R. Horn's book - Apollyon 2012 -  -  He has done extensive research and documents his claims, charges, etc. regarding FreeMasonry (both the Craft and Scottish Right).  And he points out and documents the infiltration of the Catholic Church hierarchy with Masons and their herasy.  You know, they are after world domination, don't you? -  All in the name(s) of their god(s) - Osirus/Apollyon, etc.

Now, I am in no way pointing just at the Catholics - I come from the S. Baptist tradition which is LOUSY with Masons! The tragedy is how deceived those men have been - - but then isn't that what satan does?  After all, he is the "father of lies"!

Marxism in the Church

It saddens me to no end that the Church, even among my dear friends, has been indoctrinated within their education from religious to believe that marxist/ communist values equal "social justice". I have tried my best to help them understand this has been a terrible misunderstanding of the true teachngs of the Church, and that it  does not actually cooincide with the teachings of Jesus, as they insist. I have heard such incredibly naive statements as "Jesus was a true hippy" and "Jesus was a 'communist' who taught 'Social Justice'", to justify their point of view. These are Catholics brought up in Catholic schools. I first encounteredd this in the 60's when I protested to the nun-principal of my Catholic high school that I could no longer bare to go to my religion class  because the sister teaching it was advocating free sex, which she said is so "natural", we should not even confess it. She even gave me an F for writing my opinion that I believe in the moral teachings of the church. I told the pricipal that what hurt me the most in that class, was that all of my peers of other 17 year old girls, were lapping it up. The principal told me that it was a required course to graduate, but when I stood by my convictions, the bishop interviened, and allowed me to graduate.
The only recourse I have now is to pray unceasingly for the Church. One thing that is comforting is that Jesus promised that "even the Gates of Hellwill not prevail, against it".

The Vatican???

PLEASE investigate before printing stuff like this. THE VATICAN (read the Pope, Mageserium, the people) did not write this. A progressive group did and it is amazing how quickly and happily people jump all over things and mischaracterize the Church. It is disgusting that these people use the Church to propagate their philosophies although even THEY are back-peddaling and say they were just SUGGESTING paths to "help" give direction to the current problems. Perhaps these stupid, damaging scenarios will encourage the real Vatican to restrain the progressives. The Church is always a target for infiltration by communists and socialists to destroy from within. It's happened over and over for 2000 years and yet she is keeps going due to the promises of the Holy Spirit. God bless those who endure despite ongoing undeserved criticism. I LOVE MY CHURCH!

The Councils statement

As it has in the past, Church (so called intellecturals) advocate do not understand realty about what makes the world work and the realities of the U.N. If they think Socialism is the right path, they are really ignorant of history. I pray for there education, or the world is doomed.

Vatican

The pope &  The Catholic church need to deal with the child molesters& stay out of politics!!!

Vatican pushes global central bank

The Vatican must be in really desperate financial condition, in as much as they have now been pushed to "OPENLY" schill for the privately owned central banks of the west whose plan it is to consolidate their rule over the entire world by completing their monopolistic control over their system of the issuance of FIAT money, unlimited amounts of credit (debt) to those who "cooperate",and withdrawing credit (debt) from those who do not, making the words of their mentor, Mayer Rothschild, more relevant than ever before in human history....

"GIVE ME CONTROL OF A NATION'S MONEY AND I CARE NOT WHO MAKES HER LAWS"

Some of us also remember a quote attributed to Thomas Jefferson...

"The central bank is an institution of the most deadly hostility existing against the Principles and form of our Constitution. I am an Enemy to all banks discounting bills or notes for anything but Coin. If the American People allow private banks to control the issuance of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the People of all their Property until their Children will wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered."

ALL IS NOW OUT IN THE OPEN FOR EYES THAT SEE AND EARS THAT HEAR AND A BRAIN THAT IS USED.

pope

WELL WHAT DO YOU EXPECT TO BE DIFFERENT BUT THE  POOP / POPE  WANTS TO CONTROL THE WORLD  THE SAME AS THEY DID IN ANCIENT TIMES BY EITHER KILLING YOUR ENEMY OR RUINING THEM MONEY WISE. AND NOW YOU HAVE THIS NAZI POPE RUNNING THE SHOW TRYING TO DO WHAT HITLER COULDNT DO AND THAT IS RULE THE WORLD. BETWEEN HIM  AND THE MUSLIM HUSSEIN OBAMA WE  CITIZENS OF THE WORLD ARE GOING TO GET THE SWORD BY ONE OR THE OTHER.

Responding in a hateful and

Responding in a hateful and rabid manner doesn't help anyone. The pope is not a Nazi just because he was born in Germany during the time of Hitler. He doesn't want to rule the world ..... He wants everyone to come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. As disciples of Jesus Christ we are expected to go out and share the Good News whether in our neighborhoods or to all 4 corners of the earth as some are called to do.  Man isn't perfect but most of us try.  Suggestion for you ...... a wonderful book called, the Politically Incorrect Guide to the Crusades by Robert Spencer.  As we didn't live in that time period it is important to understand what led up to the Crusades and the Moslem threat to Christianity.  Answers weren't perfect but it will give you a much greater understanding and compassion of that period in history.  It was a real eyeopener for me. Man is imperfect and mistakes have been made.  You may not like Obama but God still loves him so how about joining me in  praying for him ...... it's a lot more effective than hate.  God Bless you

These decisions by the

These decisions by the Catholic Church is an indication of the radical part it will play in the end days.Since the very beginning it has given itself the right to the religion of the world.Their claim to Christianity is not what GOD gave us the right to do. Where GOD give us a choice the Catholic church demand the right to  control  people. Over the ages ther has been scandal after scandal within the church and apparently that is to continue

Subsidiarity

This statement seems to violate the Church's prinicpled support of Subsidiarity -- a fundatmental element of the Church's understanding of social justice.

My guess is this particular Council has little or no credibility  within the Church except with like minded progressives who seek every opportunity to confuse the faithful and give fodder to the enemies of the Church.

Goodness....it would be nice if the Pope and His Brother Bishops would stand firm against such nonsense.

Subsidiarity

  I agree 100% with MJSelker's comments above.

The Pope should pray about this matter and seriously consider the thinking of these elite economic council members.  He should indicate to us the results of his prayerful consideration of these matters. I doubt he would give much support to their radical ideas, having lived through the Nazi  (national socialism )regime in Germany. The world has rejected Marxism and in America today we are in a battle to throw off Marxism brought to us by Obama and his gang of socialists.

As a Catholic, I think the Church has some very left-leaning ideas which disregard the realities of our times and the past failures of the United Nations.  As an American, I value my freedom and the U.S. Constitution and do not subscribe to being subjected to the totalitarian control of the New World Order crowd.  What makes them think they as a tiny group have more or better knowledge and decision-making ability than could be arrived at via a consensus of individual American thinkers such as the Founding Fathers of the U.S.?  It's only their elitism and PRIDE -- which springs from SATAN -- that causes them to utter such drivel. No Thank You!

Church leaders should proclaim religious truths -- and stay out of areas in which they have little or no practical knowledge or experience.  Being supported by their believers' contributions makes for an easy life -- no worry about earning a living, holding a job or doing any real work -- aside from sitting around and cogitating with other birds of a feather with similar capabilities. Fortunately, Catholics do not have to abide by the Church's ideas  -- only in matters of Faith and Morals -- not unproven economic theories or disproven Marxist claptrap.

Lord, deliver us from EVIL.
