Ron Paul Sets New Records as Herman Cain Continues Slide in CHQ Straw Poll

After setting a new personal best in the CHQ Presidential Straw Poll last week, Newt Gingrich fell 11 percent, barely edging out Herman Cain, who also continued his slide for the third week in a row. Yet, at the top, Ron Paul jumped by 15 percent over last week, proving again that the grassroots are demanding a call for genuine fiscal discipline, and not just empty rhetoric.

Here is the full breakdown of last week's CHQ Presidential Straw Poll:

1. Ron Paul (56 percent; up 15 percent)
2. Newt Gingrich (14 percent; down 11 percent)
3. Herman Cain (13 percent; down 5 percent)
4. Michele Bachmann (6 percent; no change)
5. Rick Perry (4 percent; no change)
6. Mitt Romney (3 percent; up 1 percent)
7. Gary Johnson (2 percent; up 1 percent)
8. Rick Santorum (1 percent; no change)
9. Other (0 percent; down 1 percent)
9. Jon Huntsman (0 percent; no change).

Did Newt's immigration comments hurt him last week? Will Cain continue to fall in the polls? Can Paul continue to climb? Have Perry and Bachmann finally settled at 4 and 6 percent, respectively? Only your votes will decide, so go vote now in ConservativeHQ.com's weekly GOP Presidential Straw Poll and decide their fates.

Cain Peccadillos

You can count me among those who could care less about accusations of Cain's infidelities. If the guy was just a conservative or a man of substance at all, I might consider him. But come on. A guy who has never heard of Libya? I mean I would like to have a guy as president who at least knows more about foreign policy than I do! He has absolutely no plan at all that I've been able to discern. But let's face it: The biggest threat to this country is its monetary policy. Throughout history fiat currencies have all ended up the same way: hyperinflation and loss of their currency. Don't think it can happen here? We've lost some 75% of the dollar's purchasing power just since I was in school. This foreign adventurism will sink us monetarily just as surely as it sank the USSR. NO CANDIDATE realizes that except for Ron Paul, who has been studying this issue for some 40 years and actually went into politics because of it. These worldwide demonstrations are causing regime changes but the new leadership is just like the old. In this country we actually have a chance for a bloodless revolution which could cause economic recovery by installing a president who understands why this is happening and can work to reverse the trend. How can people sincerely believe that any entity can live on borrowed money forever and survive? Sooner or later the piper must be paid. We can either cut back spending DRASTICALLY, and not just trim away at proposed increases, but actually cut spending.....or the economy is doomed.

Ron Paul - Strong on Foreign Policy

I want to start with a strong THANK YOU for reading my message. I feel just as concerned for America's safety as you do.

Ron Paul's foreign policy beats the other candidate's policies, and this is why.

The following information is from what I learned in the book "Cutting the Fuse" by Robert Pape (PhD) the only extensive research on Terrorism ever done:

From 1980-2003 there were 350 suicide terrorist attacks world wide. Less than 15% of which were directed at Americans. From 2004-2009 there were 1,833 suicide terrorist attacks globally, and 92% were anti-American. These statistics coincide with the entering and leaving of military troops in middle eastern regions. 98.5% of all suicide terrorist attacks from 2004-2009 were caused by foreign military occupation. That means today only 1.5% of all suicide attacks are based on "religious differences".

Studies show that people who join Al Qaeda and who eventually ends up killing themselves to kill other people come from heavily occupied regions like the borders, where it is most violent. Some others are a group of people that have lost family members, neighbors, and friends due to the occupation. (Among other reasons as well...)

=====
We are making terrorism worse. We create more terrorists than we kill. Ron Paul suggests we leave the region, and keep a federal look on our international travels where there might be a threat. He advocates keeping our troops here in the States, to ensure maximum defense.

He also advocates friendship and free trade with as many countries as we can. Just because china doesn't have troops here in America doesn't mean they're Isolationist.

herman cain

I can't believe for a second that Herman Cain would consider putting himself out in front of  wolves if he had the past that his accusers say he has.  He cannot be that stupid!  Anyone with reasonable intelligence know you are fair game for unearthing past indiscretions when running for public office.

I just feel as conservatives we succumbed to the politics of destruction for our candidates as is being perpetrated by the radical marxist left in Obama's camp. We throw our conservative candidates under the bus just based on what the opposition purports. Why can't we check it out first before giving up on a candidate.

Below is background on this latest chick needing money.  Why do they wait so long and why did she not hit him up in 2000 when he was running?  People out there looking to earn easy money at the behest of bringing down someone's reputation are running rampant in today's society.

From Fox 5: Before our interview, we checked into Ginger White's background. We found she filed a sexual harassment claim against an employer in 2001. That case was settled.

We also found a bankruptcy filing nearly 23 years ago in Kentucky, and a number of eviction notices here in DeKalb County over the past six years. The most recent happened this month.

Ms. White says she has been unemployed, and she is a single mom with two kids struggling to make ends meet.

“We also found a lawsuit filed by a former business partner, Kimberly Vay, who once sought a "stalking temporary protective order" against Ms. White for "repeated e-mails/texts threatening lawsuit and defamation of character." The case was dismissed; but was followed by a libel lawsuit against Ms. White. A judge entered an order in favor of Kimberly Vay because Ms. White failed to respond to the lawsuit.

Look at this... Ginger White's attorney is a Democratic radical supporter! Over 4k donated to OBAMA!

herman

Yes, he would. he has been given a free ride all of his life and gotten away with it. Though it is different running for Prez, how could he be conditioned to respond any differently?

couldnt care less..

.. about these sexual harrasment charges..  It's the support of the bailouts, not seeing the Federal Reserve as a problem, introduction of a national sales tax, not addressing the spending on a serious level, vauge on forien policy (he wasnt even sure what was going on in Libya!) and giving absolutly NO SIGNES OF UNDERSTANDING OF THE CONSTITUTION or mentions of the concept of government DEFENDING LIBERTY that I find faulty with Cain.. and all the others.

A narcissist  doesn't care

narcissist  doesn't care about ramifications.

Paul

Ron Paul is the ONLY true conservative running. He is also the most ignored by the conservative press.
