There’s no doubt in the minds of conservatives and Tea Partiers that this is why he invoked executive privilege in the “Fast and Furious” case.
We asked you: “Why did President Obama invoke executive privilege in the ‘Fast and Furious’ case?”
Here is how you responded:
97% He’s hiding something.
2% Loyalty to Eric Holder.
1% Undecided.
1% Concern for the separation of powers.
This "privilege" should not exist. Period.
How quickly We The People forgot that the President and Congress work for us. They are our employees, we are their bosses. Not the other way around.
Instead, it has been morphed into exactly the opposite. The governed (us) are entitled only to what snippets of information the elite rulers deem necessary to keep us complacent.
No executive or other government employee at any level should EVER be able to hide what they are doing from public scrutiny, except under the following two very limited circumstances:
1. details of a current or planned military operation including operational details of how current weapons systems work (note I did not say keeping details of previous operations secret for years after the operation is concluded).
2. privacy details pertaining to individuals whose information is known to the employee, where divulging such private information violates that individual's right to privacy.
Anything else should be public record. We are paying for it and we have the right to know. Period.
Under the radar...
How can we doubt he's hiding something?
On March 30,2011, the 30th anniversary of the assassination attempt on President Ronald Reagan, Jim Brady, who sustained a debilitating head wound in the attack, and his wife, Sarah, came to Capitol Hill to push for a ban on the controversial "large magazines." Brady, for whom the law requiring background checks on handgun purchasers is named, then met with White House press secretary Jay Carney. During the meeting, President Obama dropped in and, according to Sarah Brady, brought up the issue of gun control, "to fill us in that it was very much on his agenda," she said.
"I just want you to know that we are working on it," Brady recalled the president telling them. "We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar."
