Phillips, the baker-owner of Masterpiece Cake Shop in Lakewood, Colorado refused to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple and now radical homosexuals are pushing a boycott against the Christian business.
It wasn’t the first time the shop turned down same-sex couples who wanted a cake. However, after a same-sex couple aired their feelings on Facebook, Phillips became the target of a hate campaign for following his Christian beliefs.
Dozens of protesters, some apparently very angry, gathered outside the shop last Saturday to express their intolerance for Jack Phillips’ Christian beliefs.
Now, according to CBS News, Phillips has received more than 1,000 angry messages about his witness for the biblical definition of marriage.
Phillips for his part evinced no hostility to those who demand he abandon the daily practice of his Christian beliefs or lose his business, “If gays come in and want to order birthday cakes or any cakes for any occasion, graduations, or whatever, I have no prejudice against that whatsoever,” Phillips said. “It’s just the wedding cake, not the people, not their lifestyle.”
As Gary Bauer recently observed, “The gay-rights movement is instinctively totalitarian. It seeks nothing less than the total and complete acceptance of gay marriage and the repudiation of marriage as it has existed through all human history and in the traditions of every major world religion. Until that happens, their immediate goal is to try to marginalize anyone who expresses a dissenting view in public.”
We figure it is only a matter of time until Democrat politicians, who already plan to add a statement in support of same-sex marriage to their party platform, jump into the fray.
To liberals the destruction of a Christian small business, like the Masterpiece Cake Shop in Lakewood, Colorado, is merely collateral damage in their war to remake American society.
If adopting the radical homosexual agenda will help Democrats gain power and allow them to pursue their statist agenda, they will destroy anyone who gets in the way, no matter how unconstitutional the means or the cost to society at large.
Liberals never seem to grasp that the Framers of the Constitution drafted it to protect the freedoms of speech and of religion for a reason. They wanted to create a new nation where baker Jack Phillips wouldn’t have to make the choice between closing down his business and closing down his beliefs – where tyrants couldn’t destroy him for his faith – and where he would be free to practice his Christian faith in his everyday life as he sees fit and as the Bible commands.

As a christian beliver I stand with Jack Phillips to refuse a "Wedding Cake" for the same sex couples. The reason: It is very clear in the bible that those who live a homosexual life style is an abomination to the Lord and they shall not enter the Kingdom Of God. The bible says in the last days (we are in those last days) the great deceiver (Satin) shall deceive many into beliving what ever they do in their eyes is ok not matter what the bible says about it. The bible is very clear that marriage is between a "MAN & WOMAN". If same sex couple want to live this way thats their choice but try to tell me to accept it as a marriage and step on my convictions that it is not right, and not accepted in the eyes of the Lord this is where I drawl the line.
The gay agenda.
Dis-proportionately there are all too many gays (boys & girls) covertly in government and they manuever to bring in more to high positions so they in turn can hire more cronies. Their covert agenda is to continue to deceive the majority community by pretending all they want is civil rights. If they really wanted civil rights, they would have accepted civil unions, but that's not good enough. What they want is their way entirely, because they are entitlests. They don't bother to think things thru. Any haphazard whim will do just fine. If they disrupt our instutions, culture or policy's, they don't care. They believe what they are doing is pay back, to authority, for their condition; aimless promiscuity. They are akin to the nymphomaniac, no meaning, no value, just used and abused. They have no anchor, they aren't grounded to moral value. They have no legacy. Anything goes with them, that is why they want to lead the rest of us to the kool-aid, because there isn't anything of value or decency for them in their "chosen" lifestyle. Since media (plenty of gays here) propagandized for our sympathy, things have gotten progressively worse, not better, worse.
They aren't able to stand up against their own for immoral or criminal behavior, because they themselves are deceivers and would be perceived as hypocritical. They accept and condone the downward spiral in moral behavior. So now we have a "Ship of Fools" who want the rest of us to board, never mind the icebergs, instead, drink some spiked kool aid.
One answer to this problem is to "Vote Incumbents Out!" Who needs USELESS idiot politicians that make things worse?
Not seeing it
I agree wholeheartedly that gov't shouldn't get involved in this. Menino & Emmanuel are idjits for trying to use zoning on Chik-fil-A, proving only that zoning laws ought to be banned, as they are evidently available to social engineers for this sort of nonsense.
However, in this case, government is not (at least, yet) involved. If protestors want to picket a bake shop (how come I don't have that kind of time in my life?), mazeltov. I've seen conservatives boycotting Home Depot and Target recently, for the mirrored reason. The proper course of action is to support that bake shop with your business, if you wish to. At the same time, if gay couples and gay-friendly people decide to take their business elsewhere, that's up to them. I suspect that that's going to impact the business, but if this proprieter's family values means barring the door to gay people, that's his choice. But it's also appropriate for people to publicize that choice.
