We asked, “What should we do about the war in Afghanistan?” The answer came back loud and clear: Get out!
Over three out of four respondents in our CHQ Poll want to get out immediately or soon.
Nearly half (46%) answered, “Start getting out immediately—and fast.”
Another 30% said, “Start reducing our presence now, but recognize that full withdrawal may take a year or so.”
And just 1% said, “Stick with President Obama’s timetable of getting out by 2014.”
In contrast, only 17% said, “Stay in Afghanistan as long as it takes to make sure no terrorists find a haven there.” Another 6% said, “Stay in Afghanistan as long as it takes to create a viable democracy.”
