Update: President Trump endorses House Goodlatte bill, dismisses Senate remaining immigration proposals. Much as the establishment media and open borders Republicans on Capitol Hill would like to present the Schumer-Rounds-Collins bill as a “centerist” proposal, there’s nothing “centerist” about granting amnesty to millions of illegal aliens and who knows how many thousands of illegal bordered crossers who would arrive between now and June 30, 2018.

On immigration the Senate should do what it does best; nothing. If Congress does nothing the law stays as it is, illegal aliens get arrested and deported, the quality of life of American workers and their families is protected, and America protects itself from a future of One Party rule. Now, that’s what we call win – win.
The Only Way President Trump’s Infrastructure Plan Works
The focus on projects that contribute to GDP growth is what makes the President’s plan workable – or at least worth considering – in this age of massive deficits. Congress should keep the focus there and resist the temptation to siphon money off to boondoggles (like bike paths, parks and trails) that do not produce a return on investment through GDP growth.
Trump Shoots Down McCain Amnesty Bill
Speaker Ryan’s comments that the House would only take up a bill that President Trump supports puts to rest (at least for the moment) conservative concerns that the open-borders oriented Ryan might try to force through an amnesty bill. Trump’s rejection of the McCain – Coons amnesty plan puts the pressure back on the Republican Senate to pass a bill that meets the President’s requirements.
CHQ and Ear to the Ground Survey Reveals Trump Supporters Will Not Support President On Amnesty
Trump supporters couldn’t be clearer: 71% of his base they will no longer support the President if amnesty is included in immigration reform. However, they also said they are confident President Trump will follow-through on his campaign promises regarding immigration.
New Poll: Conservatives Say No Filibuster On Funding The Government
In the wake of the three-day government shutdown, almost 84% of those responding to the FedUp PAC poll say that funding bills should be passed by a simple majority rather than the 60 votes require to break a filibuster.

California is home to more illegal aliens than any other state and given those numbers, it should surprise no one that the formerly “Golden State” is now officially the poverty capital of America. California — not Mississippi, New Mexico, or West Virginia — has the highest poverty rate in the United States.

While the White House proposal technically ends chain migration and the lottery, it uses ALL those visas to bring in the 4 million people on the visa waiting list. That means current immigration levels will continue for the next 10-15 years or more AND amnesty will be granted to a minimum of 1.8 million illegals. These are permanent changes to America's electorate. If this passes the Trump proposal will make Republicans a permanent minority party and limited government constitutional conservatism a soon-to-be extinct philosophy of government.

The current level of immigration, even without amnesty, will add nearly 15 million new Left-leaning voters to our polity. Add to that amnesty for millions of mostly Mexican and Central American DACA beneficiaries and Trump will make Republicans a permanent minority party and limited government constitutional conservatism a soon-to-be extinct philosophy of government.
Did We Just Say Paul Ryan Is Right?
Ryan is right to criticize the Senate for government by train wreck, the question is what is his Senate counterpart Mitch McConnell going to do about it? One idea is to embrace President Trump’s suggestion that the Senate do away with the 60-vote rule on spending bills, thus stripping the Democrats of their power to bring the country to a halt whenever they want to pander to their Leftwing base.

Make no mistake about what happened on Monday – this was not a win for conservatives. All that happened was that Democrats and open borders “Republicans” such as Senators Lindsey Graham and Jeff Flake have been given three more weeks to line-up the pro-amnesty votes in Congress and hammer President Trump in the media.

It is inconceivable to us that Republican “leaders” cannot grasp what a strong political position they now hold vis-à-vis the Democrats, and how the future of their majority now balances on a knife’s edge. We urge CHQ readers to call the toll free Capitol Switchboard (1-866-220-0044), ask for House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Senator John Cornyn, tell them conservatives will bolt the GOP if they trade ending the #SchumerShutdown for amnesty for illegal aliens.

President Trump called the deal proposed by Senators Flake and Durbin “horrible” on border security funding, the President also said the deal was “very, very weak” when it came to the White House’s preferred changes to the legal immigration system. "It's the opposite of what I campaigned for," the President.

Extending DACA or passing a larger amnesty bill before we build the promised border wall, before we take other actions to improve border security, before we beef up internal enforcement of our immigration laws, and before we remove the incentives to come and stay in America illegally would be a colossal mistake.

Or is it Tucker Carlson and Ann Coulter who say the meeting was a disaster, and perhaps the lowest point of Donald Trump’s presidency?
