The larger point here, though unwittingly raised in all this brouhaha, is that the reaction to Anderson’s comment perhaps shows in unintentional fashion that America and Americans would do well to, well, chill out. Have a sense of humor, for heaven’s sake. If America’s biggest problem in life is Americans being offended by something Anderson Cooper said on CNN, then, well, America has a problem of another kind all together.

What would make Republican candidates for President agree to a debate moderated by Matt Lauer, a “Notable Member” of the Clinton Global Initiative, or George Stephanopoulos, the former press secretary of a Democratic president, or the likes of CNN’s notoriously liberal host Anderson Cooper? Besides rank stupidity, it is hard to think of a reason.

Conservatives are fed-up with the Republican National Committee handing-over the primary season agenda to the liberals in the establishment media every four years. All RNC Chairman Reince Preibus is doing by threatening to pull out of debates sponsored by NBC and CNN is threatening that the GOP will finally stop being the Party of stupid.
