Pertaining to the U.S. Constitution

Trump schools Obama on U.S. Constitution

Charles Hurt, Washington Times

Mr. Obama’s blithe ignorance and selfish disregard of the Constitution was laid bare by a comprehensive study earlier this year that revealed that the Great Constitutional Law Lecturer had been rebuked by the Supreme Court more than any president in at least 70 years. And that was because the professors conducting the study only went back 70 years. And now, after eight years of Mr. Obama wagging his big legal finger at “Stupid America,” we finally have a president who actually understands the Constitution and means to uphold it.

Amnesty For DACA Beneficiaries Will Destroy The Republican Party

Granting amnesty to 800,000 mostly Mexican and Central American DACA beneficiaries is a formula that will make Republicans a permanent minority party and limited government constitutional conservatism a soon-to-be extinct philosophy of government.

To Move Our Nation Forward, Lift Up America's Founding Ideals

Scott Rasmussen, Real Clear Politics

Unfortunately, a commitment to our nation's founding ideals is lacking in our political leadership today. Some on the political left are uncomfortable with giving people freedom to decide for themselves; some on the right struggle with equality. And, politicians all across the spectrum would prefer to centralize power in their own hands rather than embrace self-governance.

Principled Conservative vs McConnell Establishment Incumbent In Alabama GOP Senate Run-Off

Alabama Republican Senate candidate Judge Roy Moore is the real deal. A Bible-believing Christian and a constitutional originalist who lives the values he campaigns on and will not be intimidated or bought by the Washington establishment.

How to Annihilate U.S. Socialism and Force Washington to Listen

The socialist movement eliminated Christianity in government and education because they know what our Founders knew. Only a moral society can be a free society.  Without a Christian moral foundation, America devolves into more offenses and violence, which leads to more elitists and tighter state control.

Presidential Election Integrity Commission Meets – Left Goes Nuts

President Theodore Roosevelt once said, it is the affair of every honest voter, wherever born, to see that no fraudulent voting is allowed anywhere. Which begs the question, if Democrats are so opposed to investigating illegal voting, are they honest voters?

War Powers and the Constitution in Our Body Politic

Andrew C. McCarthy, National Review

As a practical matter, the Constitution may not be able to prevent an overly adventurous president from enmeshing us in conflicts against our interests. But congressional war powers can still have much to say about the legitimacy of the use of force, and therefore about its extent and duration. Moreover, where the use of force is clearly in America’s vital interests, congressional war powers — used to issue a powerful endorsement of a clear, necessary mission — can help us achieve something that has eluded us since 1945: victory.

Is America Still a Nation?

Patrick J. Buchanan, The American Conservative

Could the Constitution, as currently interpreted, win the approval of two-thirds of our citizens and three-fourth of our states, if it were not already the supreme law of the land? How would a national referendum on the Constitution turn out, when many Americans are already seeking a new constitutional convention?

Is the Second Amendment Only for the Elite?

The Framers of the Constitution did not reserve the right of self-defense to those elite members of society whose position or wealth provides them with armed guards. When the courts fail to enforce the promises of the Constitution, then it is up to the legislature to act. We urge Congress to take up and pass a national concealed carry bill.

James Comey: Everything You Need To Know In One Line

There was one line in his written testimony that summed up everything you need to know about James Comey, why he was fired and why he was such a danger to constitutional government: "the FBI’s traditionally independent status in the executive branch."

Will Paris Revive the Constitution’s ‘America First’ Approach to Treaties?

Andrew C. McCarthy, National Review

President Trump says he’s all about draining the swamp. Well, the swamp runneth over with signed but unratified treaties that the Left maintains impose stifling obligations and international pieties on Americans. We’ve never voted for them, and our elected representatives have never voted to approve them. Yet our own government, whose officers swear to defend the Constitution, tells us we are bound. The president should formally withdraw the United States from every single one.

Take Us Out Mr. President

We urge CHQ readers to use this link to contact the White House. Tell President Trump it is time to fulfill his campaign promise to protect American workers by taking us out of Obama’s unconstitutional Paris climate deal.

None Of The Above: How To Take Back Our Election Process and Make the Parties Listen to Us

"NONE OF THE ABOVE” means you have the power to decide who will hold office – not the power brokers. When the votes are tallied, if “NONE OF THE ABOVE” gets a majority of votes over any of the candidates listed, then “NONE OF THE ABOVE” wins.

Rush Was Close, But…

By Richard A Viguerie, CHQ Chairman
The White House leaking problem is bigger than an absence of loyalty to Donald Trump. I think it is the absence of loyalty to principles, especially conservative principles.

Inherently Unreasonable Administrative Subpoenas Advance Police State, Violate the Constitution

Mark J. Fitzgibbons, CNS News

It may be that use of institutionalized violations of the Fourth Amendment are far more prevalent than the relative quantity of the general warrants in their day. Wise and constitutionally principled judges since at least the 1600s, however, have recognized the dangers of the coercive and extortionate nature of search power unbridled from probable cause determined in advance by the judgment of neutral judicial officers.

Gorsuch Asks The Right Questions

Asking the right questions doesn’t mean that Justice Gorsuch will reach the right decisions in these or any future case before the Court.  However, conservatives can take encouragement that Justice Gorsuch is starting from the plain language of the Constitution and the statues Congress has passed, not the whims and fantasies of other judges.

Americans Are Losing Their Independence, Must Get Gov’t Under Control

Ed Feulner, CNS News

It is clearly impractical to demand that the federal government immediately withdraw from education, health care, and all the other areas in which its current vast presence is, to the minds of many conservatives, clearly unconstitutional. It is too late, as well as politically impossible, to try to lock that barn door. The intruders are already acting like owners. But we can, and must, try to keep the remaining horses under local control.

Selective Blindness Or Conspiracy Of Anti-Trump Judges?

Our friend Michael Patrick Leahy has shown that there’s more than willful blindness behind the bizarre rulings against President Trump's Executive Orders on travel from terrorism hotspots. There’s a potential conspiracy involving Democrat holdovers at the Department of Homeland Security, Muslim sympathizers in the media and the shadowy “immigrant rights” groups and Democratic state Attorneys General that have brought the lawsuits to overturn the President’s Executive Order.

Get Judges And Private Organizations Out Of Refugee Resettlement

The notion that an unelected federal judge could order the President and Congress to admit a given number of foreigners and order the States to support with welfare and education benefits however many refugees a private organization chose to send them defies so many constitutional limits that it is hard to even begin to count them.
