America's post-Constitutional culture

William Smith, Fox News
As foreseen by Tocqueville in 1835, America has developed a post-constitutional culture in which citizens are transformed from independent citizens into weak dependents, fully reliant upon the dispensations and “protections” of government.  The Supreme Court and the Congress are now largely infirm, fatally weakened by the growth of an Executive branch that provides ever-expanding dispensations and “protections.”   The entitlement state has killed the separation of powers.

Constitutional Rights and Wrongs

David Corbin and Matt Parks, The Federalist

SCOTUS agreed to take up the two constitutional questions at the heart of the contemporary gay marriage debate. Court politics must be guided by constitutional definitions, not polls or power-plays. Congress can still act in ways that encourage responsible judicial behavior, if it wishes.

Pete Kasperowicz, The Blaze

The Libertarian Party dismissed Obama’s State of the Union address as another effort to “make Big Gov't even bigger.” Arvin Vohra of the Nat'l Libertarian Comm. said O’s ideas, & even those being advanced by many R's, are about letting the gov't take more control over people’s lives.

Today Is A Good Day To Recall The November Mandate Voters Gave The GOP

Obama’s State of the Union address is a good time to remind your Member of Congress that he or she was elected to protect and defend the Constitution from the tidal wave of Obama's encroachments that threaten the basic God-given freedom from government that individuals are guaranteed.

How ObamaCare Death Panel Defies Constitution

Guess Who Says Obama’s Clean Power Plan Is Unconstitutional?

Liberal constitutional law scholar, and early Obama mentor, Laurence H. Tribe warns that Obama has overstepped the bounds of his constitutional authority and says frustration with congressional inaction cannot justify throwing the Constitution overboard to rescue this lawless EPA proposal.

Ted Cruz Blasts DC as 'Corrupt'

Pete Kasperowicz, The Blaze

Judge Finds Obama Amnesty Unconstitutional: Establishment GOP Disagrees

Federal Judge Arthur J. Schwab’s opinion, which provides a measured and detailed rebuttal of Obama’s attempt to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens should have been welcomed with fireworks and Hallelujahs by Republicans on Capitol Hill. Why Nanny Statists Hate the 4th Amendment

Mark J. Fitzgibbons, American Thinker

Why do nanny statists like Obama & Kamala Harris violate the 4th Amendment? It’s a way to deprive citizens, nonprofits & businesses of constitutional rights before they reach the due process stage. It's big-stick intimidation.

The Greatest Constitutional Document of All

Rob Natelson, American Thinker

No wonder Justices of the Supreme Court have cited Magna Carta in over 175 cases. It is a foundation for American liberties -- as it has been a foundation of the liberties widely enjoyed throughout the modern Anglosphere.

Fed Funding For Police Body Cameras Unconstitutional

Mark J. Fitzgibbons, American Thinker

The thought of a law requiring all federal law enforcement officials to be recorded while on duty may be the new Walter Mitty fantasy for conservatives. O's call to fund cameras has no constiutional support.

Beware Of A Rogue President And A Lame Duck Congress

Even though the GOP is getting control of both the House and the Senate in January, this "lame duck" session could wreak a great deal of destruction on our country. Conservatives must demand that Capitol Hill Republicans mount a last ditch defense against Obama's unconstitutional amnesty, liberal appointees and spending from now through the swearing-in of the new Congress.

This Thanksgiving We Conservatives Are Like The Pilgrims

The pilgrims didn't just give thanks for what they had. They gave thanks for the freedom to pursue what they -- with God's help -- might yet achieve.

Obama and the Dispensing Power
