Outsiders vs. Insiders: Trump’s first SOTU leaves Democrats speechless…and hopeless

Donald Trump may not be the messenger everyone wanted but the message is what counts these days. Trump’s first State of the Union speech should be considered a smashing success – but what else would you expect from a man who swore America would start winning again if he were elected president. Mission accomplished.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Even Donald Trump needs an occasional reminder of who his friends are

It’s highly unlikely Donald Trump will gain many supporters among the leftist illegal alien crowd no matter what he says tonight. History proves they aren’t his friends. Therefore there’s little to be gained by reversing Trump’s campaign promise to deal with the immigration problem.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: How Trump masterfully set the stage for a SOTU address for the ages

All eyes are on President Trump this week to see where issue discussions will lead. It could be a battle to the death over immigration is a fight Republicans should make. One way or another the president has set the stage for what promises to be a State of the Union speech to remember.

Trump Amnesty Disaster

While the White House proposal technically ends chain migration and the lottery, it uses ALL those visas to bring in the 4 million people on the visa waiting list.  That means current immigration levels will continue for the next 10-15 years or more AND amnesty will be granted to a minimum of 1.8 million illegals.  These are permanent changes to America's electorate. If this passes the Trump proposal will make Republicans a permanent minority party and limited government constitutional conservatism a soon-to-be extinct philosophy of government.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: NFL’s AMVETS ad snub proves management learned nothing this season

The NFL would be doing America’s inner cities a favor by honoring the flag and those who serve it instead of denying basic free speech rights under the guise of political correctness. The days come and go but apparently Roger Goodell and company learned nothing from this season.

Trump Snatching Defeat From The Jaws Of Victory On Immigration

The current level of immigration, even without amnesty, will add nearly 15 million new Left-leaning voters to our polity. Add to that amnesty for millions of mostly Mexican and Central American DACA beneficiaries and Trump will make Republicans a permanent minority party and limited government constitutional conservatism a soon-to-be extinct philosophy of government.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Thanks to amnesty ‘Only in America’ now has a negative sound to it

Only in America is there a compassionate people who might grant them their wish and allow them to stay. Illegal aliens shouldn’t be angry – they should be thankful. A border wall and internal enforcement is the least Democrats should offer in exchange for permission to remain here.

Maybe Americans Just Want A Rational Immigration Policy

David Harsanyi, The Federalist

Maybe the lesson of the shutdown is that DACA, and the debate surrounding illegal immigrants in general, isn’t as simple or as powerful as Democrats imagine. Maybe the shutdown’s lesson is that Trump can hold out for a wall and other concessions on chain migration and enforcement in exchange for an easier path towards legalization for those already here. Maybe the lesson is that a deal is available.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Cheerleader in chief Trump deserves credit for great things he’s done

Leftists like those in the women’s march will continue taking to the streets to protest Trump but they’re looking more pathetic with each passing day. Republicans should keep advocating for the Trump agenda with the confidence Americans will make the right decisions come November.

Democrats Fear Debate about Dreamers Will Pivot to One on ‘Chain Migration’

John Fund, National Review

Democrats who precipitated the shutdown love to cite statistics that show that 80 percent of Americans want to allow the Dreamers to stay — as no doubt any final resolution will allow. But they should worry that the longer the shutdown debate is focused on immigration, the more Americans will come to realize it’s about our underlying U.S. immigration policy — and Democrats are coming to realize just how shaky defending that ground might become.

Conservatives Want Trump to Be Trump

More than 54% of conservatives responding to the FedUp PAC poll take the position that Trump “should continue to say the same thing in the same way about merit-based immigration.” Another 39% agree with Trump about the necessity of moving to merit-based immigration but say that he “should be more careful about the language he uses.”

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Swamp creatures fighting fiercely to preserve big government in DC

Trump shouldn’t let the Democrats off the hook. If America’s elected officials are ever going to address the nation’s issues – including the national debt – they need to stop making excuses and face reality. Neither Trump nor the process is the problem; it’s DC’s swamp mentality.

Now Is The Time To Crush The Democrats

It is inconceivable to us that Republican “leaders” cannot grasp what a strong political position they now hold vis-à-vis the Democrats, and how the future of their majority now balances on a knife’s edge. We urge CHQ readers to call the toll free Capitol Switchboard (1-866-220-0044), ask for House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Senator John Cornyn, tell them conservatives will bolt the GOP if they trade ending the #SchumerShutdown for amnesty for illegal aliens.

Outsiders vs. Insiders: Trump’s Fake News awards a wake-up call to biased American media

Donald Trump isn’t Joseph Stalin. There’s no Gulag waiting beyond the Blue Ridge for reporters who say things critical to the administration. In his “Fake News Awards” Trump also praised “many great reporters;” the people will be the judge on who’s in the right on this one.

Dickie Durbin Does DACA

Scott McKay, The American Spectator

With Trump in the White House you won’t have national monuments shut down or military payroll not met; he’s going to define “essential” functions of the government differently than Obama did. In fact, most Americans probably wouldn’t notice a government shutdown at all. But the ones who will probably won’t like the thought that it’s happening out of homage to illegal aliens at their expense. And they might like it even less if they believe Durbin trumped up a lie as a smokescreen for the whole thing.

Please Don‘t Shut Down The Government, Democrats, Because That Would Be Awful (Not)

Kurt Schlichter, Townhall

If the Democrats decide to shut down the government over DACA, awesome. Go out and make the case that, in addition to all the other inconveniences, injuries, and expenses Americans have borne as a result of people disrespecting our laws and coming here illegally, we now have to shut down our government because of them too. Sounds like a well thought-out plan. Go ahead, Dems. Give it a try. There’s no way Trump is going to humiliate you again. Sure, you tell yourselves that every time you go up against him, but hey, you gotta win sometime.

Trump Shoots Down Senate Liberals’ Amnesty Bill

President Trump called the deal proposed by Senators Flake and Durbin “horrible” on border security funding, the President also said the deal was “very, very weak” when it came to the White House’s preferred changes to the legal immigration system. "It's the opposite of what I campaigned for," the President.
