Jim DeMint

Jim DeMint moves on to new endeavors after Heritage Foundation

Philip Wegmann, Washington Examiner

More than biding his time, DeMint has been planning a wholescale political revolution by completely nonstandard political means. This is significant and shouldn't be chalked up to simple cynicism. Republicans won't fix things. And though not for a lack of effort, neither will the conservatives at the Heritage Foundation or the populist in the White House. Something new is needed, something DeMint dreamed up in his month off.

Senate Conservatives Fund sees an establishment hatchet job after Jim DeMint leaves Heritage

Philip Wegmann, Washington Examiner

How is the Tea Party taking the news of Jim DeMint's removal from the Heritage Foundation? Judging by the reaction of the Senate Conservatives Fund, not well. If Heritage doesn't find a way to quell this anger, it threatens to become the established narrative that the establishment knifed DeMint in the back.

The Heritage Foundation And Jim DeMint: Both Vital To The Conservative Movement

By Richard A Viguerie, CHQ Chairman
I was there, so to speak, at the beginning of the Heritage Foundation and what many people in Washington seem to have forgotten is that Heritage was founded to be a movement conservative force independent of the Republican Party and establishment Republican leaders.

President Ryan Takes Over

The spending bill Paul Ryan is about to ram through Congress shows that despite Donald Trump’s historic election win it is Speaker Paul Ryan who is really running the show in Washington, and President Ryan has no intention of fulfilling candidate Donald Trump’s campaign promises.

Speaker Paul Ryan’s Implosion

Since the election of President Donald Trump the myth of Paul Ryan’s genius has come crashing down to earth because for the first time in his life Ryan has actually had to produce measurable results. And when the results have been compared to the myth Ryan has failed. Spectacularly.

The Heritage Foundation is Trump’s shadow transition team

Katie Glueck, Politico

“We’re just thrilled with what we see from the transition, it gets better every day. To the extent Heritage is involved in it, hats off to Heritage,” said Richard Viguerie. “Conservatives would expect Heritage to be at the center of anything that’s important to dealing with conservative issues, causes, the movement.”

For conservatives and the House Freedom Caucus, a time to build

Jim DeMint, Washington Examiner

It's not a perfect situation, but it'll be what conservatives make of it. If the House Freedom Caucus keeps the GOP leadership honest and stays true to their revolutionary spirit, 2016 will be a lot more productive for conservatives than 2015.

Fighting Obama's Amnesty: Et Tu, Brute?

Jim DeMint, Daily Signal

Instead of focusing on O’s unlawful amnesty, some in the GOP went so far as to accuse Cruz and Lee of helping Reid confirm Obama's radical nominees. What Cruz & Lee did was stand up for those who are tired of the status quo.

Jim DeMint Speaks Out For Liberty

Teresa Mull, American Spectator

"The issue of religious liberty has come to the forefront and it’s important that we understand this is not merely the 'freedom to worship.' Individuals should be free to work, speak, and serve according to their deeply held beliefs throughout their lives."
