Are Abortion and Gay Rights American Values?

Patrick J. Buchanan, The American Conservative

Under our Constitution, many practices are protected — abortion, blasphemy, pornography, flag-burning, trashing religious beliefs — that other nations regard as symptoms of a disintegrating society. When Hillary Clinton said half of all Trump supporters could be put into a "basket of deplorables" for being "racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic," she was conceding that many Trump's supporters detest many progressive values. True, but in the era of Trump, why should her liberal values be the values America champions abroad? Without an agreed-upon higher authority, values become matters of opinion. And ours are in conflict and irreconcilable.

The Age of Pelagius

Sen. Josh Hawley, Christianity Today

We must rebuild a culture that affirms the dignity of the working man and woman, that protects their way of life and honors their central role in the life of this country. We must rebuild an economy that will offer opportunity for every American worker, whatever degree she may have, wherever he may live—an economy that rewards hard, productive work. For that, after all, is the work that built this country. We must rebuild a democracy run not by the elites, but by the great middle of America, a democracy that allows the working man and woman to realize their God-given ability to govern themselves and help manage the life of his nation.

Democratic presidential candidates come to their senses on abortion

Charles Hurt, Washington Times

Geniuses on the Supreme Court managed to find abortion as some kind of guaranteed, sacred right in a document that never once mentions the gruesome procedure. The very same politicians who still see this phantom right to abortion in the Constitution today are also the first to go blind about gun rights, which are clearly spelled out in actual words in the Second Amendment. So, it is really great to see so many Democrats finally come to their senses and join the good, long struggle of returning the issue of abortion to voters. Of course, the moment they discover the wisdom of their newfound strategy, they will surely abandon it.

Justice Clarence Thomas Is The Moral Center Of The Supreme Court

Justice Clarence Thomas in an opinion of towering moral clarity, went straight to the foundational principle raised by Box v. Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky and by the Indiana law, saying, “this law and other laws like it promote a State’s compelling interest in preventing abortion from becoming a tool of modern-day eugenics.”

Hollywood Goes Nuts As Georgia Adopts Fetal Heartbeat Law

Pro-abortion actress Alyssa Milano delivered a letter to Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp’s office Tuesday urging him to oppose protecting unborn babies from abortion. Gov. Kemp signed the bill anyway, saying "our job is to do what is right, not what is easy. We are called to be strong and courageous, and we will not back down. We will always continue to fight for life.”

When the Left Talks About Packing the Courts, It Wants Political Judges Like in Kansas

Doug Bandow, The American Spectator

Here, in America’s heartland, left-liberals have triumphed, giving a preview of what the court-packing they desire by the next Democratic president would mean. Judges voting as legislators, interpreting the law as they wish it to be. New left-wing rights magically enshrined, traditional human rights ruthlessly dismissed. The Left long ago captured the legal academy and professional infrastructure. Since the 1960s it has dominated the commanding heights of the judiciary. That balance has started to shift, but the battle will be a long one. Hodes & Nauser reminds us what is at stake.

Unplanned Advances the Abortion Debate

John Fund, National Review

The movie tells a compelling story and yet is surprisingly nuanced. It shows pro-choice activists explaining the wrenching reasons that compel women to seek abortions and the ugliness of some pro-life activists who harass women. Unplanned isn’t going to resolve the pro-life-versus-pro-choice controversy, but for people who haven’t given much thought to abortion, its costs, or its consequences, it is the perfect starting point for a genuine debate. Roe v. Wade may have arbitrarily settled the political argument, but the box-office success of Unplanned demonstrates just how much demand there is for continuing the conversation.

The West Will Disappear

Cardinal Robert Sarah has issued another stark warning that our ability to maintain the Western culture in which mankind’s greatest material and spiritual accomplishments were achieved is rapidly eroding. Unless we bend the arc of our culture back toward its Judeo-Christian values and teachings the civilization of the West will disappear.

Plan To See Unplanned

Unplanned is an important film because it makes us consider the moral weight of the mind-numbing statistic of the 60 million abortions that have been performed in the United States since Roe v Wade. Through the eyes of one woman who once believed she was doing good, we see the horror of abortion for what it truly is.

Dare to see 'Unplanned' – it could change your life

Thomas Glessner, Fox News

Planned Parenthood is a multi-million-dollar industry. "Unplanned" shows this all too well. Abortion is its agenda. Whenever a mother chooses life at a pro-life center, Planned Parenthood loses money. No wonder it opposes their life-affirming work. Now the true nature of Planned Parenthood is unmasked. I urge all to go see "Unplanned" – if you dare. It just might change your life. It just might change the nation.

Shrill Abortion Plots, Streaming Live

L. Brent Bozell III and Tim Graham, CNS News

Liberals are that strange species that supports abortion on demand. And yet in their strongholds, like the District of Columbia, they hire inspectors to fine restaurants hundreds of dollars for offering their customers plastic straws. Abortion is precisely the nefarious murder of unborn babies, and the Hollywood left can spin like a furious top, saying that it's a priceless and empowering "medical procedure." These are the last people on Earth who should lecture us about how plastic straws might harm sea creatures.

How Is Abortion After Birth Not News?

L. Brent Bozell III and Tim Graham, CNS News

The big three networks offered more airtime and sympathy to vicious "ISIS bride" Hoda Muthana trying to re-enter America than they did for defenseless newborn babies, just as they felt the story of Northam wearing blackface was far worse than his favoring a woman's "right to choose" infanticide. Blackface drew hours of coverage, and infanticide drew about five and a half minutes on the Big Three network shows. If we can accept infanticide as a viable position, our civilization is finished.

Dems’ Abortion Lies

Betsy McCaughey, The American Spectator

We don’t need Ivy League bioethicists to tell us what’s immoral. Any society that allows the killing of unwanted human beings is heading in the wrong direction. When asked about the growing public concern over late abortion and new state laws like New York’s, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand called any limits “an attack on women’s rights.” She tells politicians to stay out of it. The choice is “between a woman and her doctor.” The choice to kill a viable fetus? The choice to doom a newborn to suffocation? That stance is so extreme that not even most pro-choice Americans can stomach it.

The New York Times Attacks Us Deplorables, I Fight Back: Part 3 of 3

By Richard A. Viguerie, CHQ Chairman
New York Times columnists Rosenfeld and Schlozman’s charge that those who hew to the foundational laws of Western Civilization outlined in the Bible are “extremists” shows just how far out of the American mainstream Democrats and their Leftwing fellow travelers have moved.

The New York Times Attacks Us Deplorables, I Fight Back: Part 2 of 3

By Richard A. Viguerie, CHQ Chairman
New York Times columnists Rosenfeld and Schlozman’s charge that the conservative movement is inherently racist constitutes a slander with no basis in fact, and it also conveniently deflects inquiry into which side really needs to appeal to racism to succeed, the Right or the Left?

The New York Times Attacks Us Deplorables, I Fight Back: Part 1 of 3

By Richard A Viguerie, CHQ Chairman
NYT columnists Sam Rosenfeld and Daniel Schlozman apparently believe that we deplorables who voted for Ronald Reagan in 1980 and Donald Trump in 2016 are unworthy to govern and we should simply cede power to the Leftist elite and resume the status of the powerless victims we were prior to the rise of the Reagan coalition and the modern conservative movement.

Abortion Isn’t Health Care, and It’s Time Our Laws Reflected That

Tony Perkins, CNS News

From Obama's abortion surcharge to the contraception mandate, Americans are more involved than ever in the procedure that so many oppose. Young or old, Republican or moderate, they agree: there's absolutely no reason that taxpayers should be on the hook for a dangerous, deadly, and almost always elective procedure. Now, with hundreds of thousands of pro-lifers en route to Washington, D.C., House and Senate pro-lifers want them to know they're doing what they can to make the bucks stop here.

Vice President Mike Pence Headlines March for Life Rose Dinner

Over one hundred thousand Americans are set to travel from across the country to our nation’s capital for this year’s March for Life, the largest annual pro-life demonstration in the world. This year’s theme, “Unique from Day One: Pro-life is Pro-science” focuses on how scientific advancements reveal the humanity of the unborn child from the moment of conception.

Give Thanks For Ron DeSantis And Rick Scott

The aim of Steyer, Soros and their network of Far-Left megadonors wasn’t just electing another progressive governor, it was putting Florida out of reach of Republican presidential candidates forever. Thanks to Ron DeSantis and Rick Scott that didn’t happen, and the Democrats’ well-planned election fraud was stymied and turned over to federal authorities for criminal investigation.
