The Media Responds to Viguerie Endorsement of Cruz

CHQ Chairman Richard Viguerie’s endorsement of Ted Cruz for President set in motion a wave of media coverage in advance of the important CNN national security debate and, most importantly, has helped to coalesce the conservative movement and limited government constitutional conservatives behind the Senator from Texas.

Viguerie and Bozell: We conservatives fight not to relive the past, but to create an even more glorious future

In remarks at this year's Values Voter Summit CHQ Chairman Richard A. Viguerie said the number one need the conservative cause has had for over 50 years is for more leaders. And in his acceptance remarks this year's Family Research Council Vision and Leadership Award recipient, L. Brent Bozell III, issued this challenge to conservatives: If you want to abandon the battlefield, then do your children, and your grandchildren a favor. Tell them. Sit them down, look them right in the eye (if you can) and utter three simple words: "I give up." What was passed down to you, you will not pass down to them. They are on their own.

Cruz is the First Top-Tier Movement Conservative Candidate Since Reagan

Richard A. Viguerie, CHQ Chairman

Ted Cruz's base is the conservative movement and his almost spiritual bond with America’s country class – the voters outside the Beltway who have looked with alarm at Obama’s fundamental transformation of America and seen not a spending bill to be negotiated or a deal to be cut, as the Republican establishment does, but an existential threat to American exceptionalism and the future of constitutional government that must be resisted at every turn.

The Second Stage: Anger

Erick Erickson, Red State

A party that won it all in '08 & then doubled down on anger is never going to accept what happened. I hope the GOP & conservative movement can break out of the anger that has so consumed many of them. Americans are going to need one party with a smile and it won’t be the Dems.

Lee: An Issue That Should Bring Libs & Conservatives Together: Fighting Cronyism

Sen.Mike Lee, Heritage Foundation Blog

An artifact of the New Deal, the Ex-Im Bank now exists to dole out taxpayer-backed loan guarantees to foreign buyers of American goods. Anti-cronyist reform is at once pro-growth, principled, and popular. It's essential to transforming our movement into a majority.

Highlights of My Speech to the New York Meeting

By Richard A. Viguerie, Author & CHQ Chairman

There have been four great Republican electoral triumphs in the past half century; Ronald Reagan in 1980 and 1984, the Contract with America in 1994, and the Tea Party revolution in 2010 and as I explain in my new book TAKEOVER there’s a theme common to all of them.

Why Ronald Reagan Spoke of ‘The Eleventh Commandment’

By not engaging in backbiting with other Republicans, Reagan was able to appear to conservative Democrats as someone different from other Republicans. Which he surely was.

Observations from CPAC: Past and Now

By first covering CPAC in a disparaging way the liberals at The Washington Post, or the Washington “Compost” as it is known to DC area conservatives, helped make CPAC the mega-conference it is today and launch other conservative endeavors, including Sarah Palin Radio.

Rick Santelli’s Rant And The Founding Of The Tea Party Movement

One can’t understand the Tea Party movement unless one understands that it is as much or more a rebellion against the Big Government Republican establishment and the entrenched leadership of the Republican Party as it is opposition to Obama and his radical liberal policies.

The Worst Republican Senator

Quin Hillyer, American Spectator

Lindsey Graham's sorry record is embarrassing. "Graham doesn't seem to have any conservative vision," CHQ Chairman Richard Viguerie said. "He doesn't seem to walk with conservatives. I'm not aware of any movement conservatives on his staff."

Repub. ID Crisis: Record Low Align W/ GOP

GOP Civil War A MSM Myth?

Jamie Weinstein, Daily Caller

“...There is much less division among conservatives than some people pretend and that the left-wing media, the liberal media, would like us to believe,” Charles Karauthammer said. “They love running stories on the great civil war among Repubs. The great civil war is happening on the Dem. side where there is this massive rebellion of Democrats against Obama..."

Schooling Jonah Goldberg

One of the most damaging political developments of the Reagan years was the silence of most conservatives, Democrats have exhibited no such compunction in criticizing Barack Obama. Movement conservatives should never hesitate to speak out when our friends in government show any inclination to give way on conservative principles.
