Vice President Pence's remarks in Indonesia painted what is at best a misleading picture of the facts on the ground. Let’s hope that behind the scenes the Vice President and President Trump’s national security team know what’s really going on in the world’s most populous Muslim country.
Those who oppose President Trump’s temporary ban on immigration from terrorist hotspots want Americans to forget that it targets, based on our experience with Muslim terrorists, the exact individuals who are most likely to be terrorists and have ties to Sharia-based jihad.
If we want to win the crucial ideological component of radical Islam’s war against us, we should be empowering these pro-Western Muslims rather than inviting the sharia-supremacist Muslim Brotherhood into our policy-making councils. Like protecting our nation, empowering pro-Western Muslims requires an immigration system that welcomes those who will support our Constitution, and turns away those who would sweep it aside.
