We applaud Senator McConnell and over forty other Republicans for co-sponsoring S.130 the “Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act”, but whether the bill ever gets a vote depends entirely upon which Mitch McConnell shows up – the somnolent one who caves to every Schumer threat of a filibuster or the aggressive one who is muscling through S.1 to limit the President’s options in Syria and Afghanistan.

The headline events of last week revealed Capitol Hill’s Republican leaders Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Minority Whip Steve Scalise and the rest of the House GOP leadership team and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Assistant Republican Leader John Thune and Senate Republican Conference Chairman John Barrasso to be feckless, cowardly and unwilling to fight for the GOP’s principles.
