Trump’s Paid Parental Leave: Bad for Women, Bad for the Economy

Daniel Mitchell, CNS News

Why on earth should the United States mimic the policies of nations that have less growth, more unemployment, and lower per-capita economic output? The best policies for women are the same as the best policies for men (not to mention all the other genders that now exist). Simply stated, allow free markets and small government.

The Best Budget Since Reagan

Stephen Moore, The American Spectator

‎This budget, in sum, reverses Obamanomics. Well done. Obama’s gave us the worst debt record ($9 trillion added in eight years) of any president by a country mile. The economy barely recovered from recession. Americans voted for a change in direction and this budget lays it all out. Somewhere Reagan is smiling.

Trump’s Budget Calls for Shutting the National Endowment for the Arts

Terence P. Jeffrey, CNS News

“The Budget proposes to begin shutting down the National Endowment for the Arts in 2018, given the notable funding support provided by private and other public sources and because the Administration does not consider NEA activities to be core Federal responsibilities,” says an administration report on the “Major Savings and Reforms” in the budget proposal.

Trump's budget requires and should produce optimism

Editors, Washington Examiner

The fact that 3 percent annual economic growth will be difficult to achieve makes it more vital — not less — that the federal government not be allowed constantly to grow and never to shrink. Once again, Congress should ignore the dire predictions and get on with putting policies in place that make optimism possible again.

Democrats: We Need to Raise Domestic Spending Caps

Nicholas Ballasy, PJ Media

A group of House Democrats called on the GOP-led Congress to increase the FY2018 defense and non-defense domestic spending caps. House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said, “If we are going to act responsibly on behalf of the national security of this country and on security in the global community, we will adopt a budget that does in fact lift the caps. We need to get real. We need to get responsible and we need to get it right for the American people.”

Time to Stop Taxpayer-Funded Propaganda

L. Brent Bozell III and Tim Graham, CNS News

The defunding of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting is long past overdue. No president, including Ronald Reagan, has seriously pushed an immediate winding down of this corrupt and outdated waste of taxpayer funds. Who would have ever imagined that Donald Trump would be the first to do it? Let the left-wing billionaires fund this left-wing propaganda. Conservatives are tired of funding our own (literal) demonizers.
