All of Obama’s Wiretappers

George Neumayr, The American Spectator

The scandal at the center of the 2016 election was not that Trump colluded with Russians to win but that the media and the Obama administration colluded with Hillary to defeat him. The loudest cries of “foreign influence over the election” came from Hillary partisans who sought it, whether it was John Brennan running off to England and Estonia to collect dirt on Trump from their spies or deep-state clowns at the FBI who wanted to turn Christopher Steele into an asset.

Who Will Wiretap the Wiretappers?

Daniel J. Flynn, The American Spectator

The more interesting question remains not whether the feds snooped on Trump but why they felt it necessary. Whereas most politicians clamor for a right to privacy, Trump demands that the press respect his God-given right to publicity. Wiretaps of the past president surely would reveal much. WikiLeaks' CIA Download Confirms Everybody's Tapped, Including Trump

Roger L. Simon, PJ Media

What is being revealed here is a sea change in the human condition that is almost evolutionary in its implications. What are our lives like without the presumption of privacy?  What kind of creatures will we become in this brave new world that appears already to have arrived?   It's not fun to contemplate. Even the medieval peasantry had moments of escape from their feudal lords.

All Roads Lead Back to Brennan

George Neumayr, The American Spectator

Obama’s CIA director John Brennan wasn’t so much “worried” by the half-baked intelligence as excited by it and the pretext it furnished for a fishing expedition at Trump Tower. What stage that expedition reached — Did they only seek a FISA warrant but not get one? Did they get one but not actually wiretap Trump Tower? and so on — is of less importance than that it was launched at all.

#ObamaGate Is a Lot More than a Hashtag

Roger L. Simon, PJ Media

My guess is this will all come down to whether our former president knew about this wiretapping -- whoever authorized it and wherever it came from -- and, if so, when. And also how he reacted to it and what he did from there.  It's all, in the grand Clintonian tradition, about what the definition of "ordered" is.

Trump is Right: Obama Monitored the Communications of Political Opponents

Having been caught in 2015 in what was a major breach of the laws governing collection of intelligence on what are referred to as “US persons” Obama didn’t cease and desist; he refined his techniques and deployed them against the Trump campaign and transition.
