Richard Viguerie: House Republicans
who fought bailout will be seen as heroes

(Manassas, Virginia)  “Future generations of conservatives – future generations of Americans – will remember the small band of House Republicans who stood up to all the pressure and fought the Wall Street bailout,” the Chairman of ConservativeHQ.com, Richard A. Viguerie, said.  “They will be remembered as heroes.”

“When others were panicking, and trying to frighten the American people into supporting a foolish, reckless bailout scheme, they stood their ground and fought to preserve the American economy and the American economic system.

“They kept their heads when all about them were losing theirs.”

Viguerie has established an online petition to show support for their stand.  The petition reads: “To House Republicans: We the undersigned strongly support your heroic efforts to protect the American people from the $700 billion Wall Street bailout.”  It can be signed at http://conservativehq.com/active-petitions/petition-to-fight-the-bailout

Viguerie said that the overwhelmingly negative public response to the bailout – with members of Congress reporting that phone calls and e-mails are running between 10-to-1 and 100-to-1 against the proposal – shows that the people “get it,” Viguerie said, “and the anti-bailout House Republicans are on their side.”
