Fake Bombs -- Fake News

It turns out the pipe bomb and white powder that forced an evacuation at CNN headquarters in New York City Wednesday morning were harmless, a law enforcement source told the Associated Press.

National Review’s Jack Crowe reports the purported explosive device was similar in construction to those sent Wednesday to former President Barack Obama, former attorney general Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton, Bomb ScareRepresentative Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D., Fla.), and Representative Maxine Waters of California. A package containing white powder was delivered later in the day.

The NYPD said the explosive devices were live during a Wednesday afternoon press conference, but subsequent reporting suggests they were not functional.

With all the history of false flags and fakery on the Left it would be reasonable for us to look skeptically at the purported bomb campaign against Democrats and to say, “Fake Bombs - Fake News.”

And there are a lot of strange things about these fake bombs.

Strange how corrupt former CIA Director John Brennan says he knows there are more bombs coming because he hasn’t gotten one yet, and the very next day he gets one.

Stranger still that CNN gets a bomb, opens it and films it instead of running for cover.

Stranger yet is the fact that the bomber makes the bombs with digital timers prominently placed on the outside of the bomb – yet these timers have no alarm function – how could the bombmaker set it to detonate with no alarm function?

Also strange is how the bombs seem to be addressed to people who don’t open their own mail, was this an elaborate plot to kill George Soros’ butler or get the mail room clerk at CNN?

To us this looks a lot more like, as Paul Sperry put it in a recent tweet, “…MSM using the phony bomb threats against prominent Democrats singled out for rebuke by Trump to mau-mau Trump into stopping his firing up the GOP base in his rallies ahead of election. This is coordinated strategic political warfare. Psyops.”

Our friend Jordan Schachtel of Conservative Review noted that, “It's weird that we're being told we can't even consider the possibility that the fake mail bombs could have been sent by someone other than a rabid right winger. Consider this, and dozens more stories just like it over past couple years” and cited this article from theverge.com as a reminder that many purported attacks on liberals and Leftwing causes have turned out to be false flags, hoaxes or non-political vendettas.

And, Scott Adams of Dilbert fame noted in a tweet, “If the bomber theories come down to either a crazy Republican or a super-clever Democrat false flag mission, one of those things is far more common than the other.”

That would be the Democrat false flag missions.

Indeed, there are dozens of examples of Muslims faking attacks by conservatives, liberal race activists faking racist incidents by conservatives and homosexuals faking homophobic attacks to generate sympathy for their cause.

But we don’t know who is responsible, what their motives are – all we and other conservatives can do is wait for law enforcement to do their work and for the evidence to reveal the perpetrator.

As our friend, former assistant U.S. Attorney and terrorism prosecutor Andrew C. McCarthy wrote recently:

There is plenty of media commentary at the moment about incivility, in the form of incendiary rhetoric and actions. This is entirely appropriate. But I’m at a loss to understand how the climate is improved by spicing up reports with thinly veiled suggestions that President Trump may have triggered a series of potentially murderous attacks on political opponents. When Bernie Sanders supporter James Hodgkinson opened fire on the Republicans he targeted and nearly killed Representative Steve Scalise, I don’t recall much Times speculation about whether he could have been set him off by Democrats urging their supporters to get aggressive — “get in their face”; “if they bring a knife, we bring a gun” — when dealing with political adversaries.

As we often observe after terrorist attacks, everyone needs to take a deep breath until facts begin to emerge. The investigators are doing their jobs. Chances are we will know soon enough who is actually responsible for the pipe bombs. Then we probably won’t need speculation about motive and incitement . . . though there will be no shortage of it, anyway.
