Together we can force the "Gang of 435" (aka the U.S. House of Representatives) to obey the instructions from their employers—we the citizens and voters of the United States!
For the first time in recent history, the American people rebelled this year against automatic increases in the national debt. All polls showed that a commanding majority of the American people were against yet another increase in the national debt.
And you remember what happened. All the powerful voices of the ruling establishment said we were bringing America to the brink of default. And with a U.S. default, the world financial system would collapse.
All of that was manufactured-in-Washington baloney, of course. The U.S. government is already in default—to its own citizens. And the world financial system is collapsing anyway—drowning in debt—with no help from us.
It's very simple. Washington is addicted to spending beyond our means. If we are going to survive, the federal government must cut spending, not add more debt or more deficits. And each increase in the debt limit allows Congress to continue in its addiction.
It's time to have an intervention with our Congressional addicts and say: "No more!" We are cutting off your money supply the only way we can—with our votes!
Force Congress to cut spending. Take this simple but very effective pledge. The next time they try to increase the national debt, we will be ready with the pledges of 100 million American citizens and voters, warning that anyone who votes for an increase in the debt limit will be voted out of office!
