Petition of One Million American Taxpayers to De-fund National Public Radio (NPR)

Juan Williams, a moderate liberal, has been fired as a commentator at National Public Radio (NPR) for telling Fox News Channel’s Bill O’Reilly, "But when I get on a plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous."

Even under the best of circumstances, taxpayers should NOT be paying for National "Public" Radio. But it is clear the network has no tolerance for viewpoints outside of its liberal dogmas.

Please sign the petition below to members of Congress demanding that NPR be de-funded by the federal government:

Whereas, with an almost uncountable number of news and public affairs programs on radio stations throughout the nation, there is no justification for taxpayers’ money being used to fund a government radio network; and

Whereas, in these times of dangerous deficits and sky-high unemployment, scarce resources should be used for much more critical needs; and

Whereas, National Public Radio (NPR) has recently shown that it does not respect opinions outside of its narrow ruling class liberalism and is not serving the public interest in any way; therefore We the undersigned, strongly request that all federal funding be ended for NPR.
