Conservatives continue to express anguish over the choices they were given in the primaries this year. Of course, libertarian conservatives can support Ron Paul with enthusiasm, but Dr. Paul, after Super Tuesday, did not have a realistic chance to win the GOP nomination. The videos below explain the problems conservatives have with the other remaining candidates, John McCain and Mike Huckabee.
Also, Rush Limbaugh has discussed at length conservatives' discontent with the 2008 Republican candidates, noting that the Republican nominee must be conservative if he or she is to unite the GOP and win in November. You may recall that Rush Limbaugh attacked “phony soldiers” such as Jesse Macbeth (Jesse Adam Al-Zaid), who was convicted of impersonating an Iraq War veteran. (Macbeth, like John Kerry during the Vietnam War, falsely reported that U.S. servicepeople routinely committed war crimes.) Extremist Web sites and their political associates twisted Limbaugh’s words to make it seem like he had attacked all soldiers who criticized the Iraq War. In this clip, McCain joins the Looney Left in libeling Limbaugh.
