Ted Cruz For President Super PAC Launches

Run Ted Run

Our friend Raz Shafer, a regional director in Senator Ted Cruz’s Senate office, announced Wednesday that he is leaving the senator's official office to run a super PAC set-up to encourage Cruz to run for President.

The super PAC that was set up in January is called "Draft Ted Cruz for President." According to reporting by The Washington Post, it is based in Houston; its Web site, RunTedRun.com, is seeking to get 1 million signatures in hopes of luring Cruz to run for president. (As of this morning, there were 819 signatures.)

While we are not ready to make an endorsement for President just yet, we like where Shafer and the team that created RunTedRun.com are coming from.

In launching the super PAC the “Draft Ted Cruz for President” team said this:

“We can't sit on the sidelines and allow a repeat of 2008 and 2012. That's exactly what Hillary Clinton and the Democrats want us to do. It's also what Chris Christie, Jeb Bush, and the rest of the Republican establishment wants…The last thing anyone in the DC establishment wants is for grassroots conservatives to start laying the groundwork RIGHT NOW to put one of our own in the White House in 2016.”

The “Draft Ted Cruz for President” site goes on to list the top reasons Republicans should draft Cruz and they are worth examining in detail.

·        Ted Cruz stood up to the gun-grabbing liberals like Dianne Feinstein to protect the 2nd Amendment.

·        Ted Cruz fought to stop the IRS from targeting and harassing conservatives for political purposes.

·        Ted Cruz battled pro-amnesty supporters like Chuck Schumer.

·        Ted Cruz refused to let Harry Reid fund the implementation of Obamacare without a fight.

·        Ted Cruz exposed senators of both parties for giving Obama a “blank check” to rack up unlimited debt after they first tried using Senate rules in a desperate attempt to conceal their vote.

Note that in each case what differentiates Cruz in the minds of his most ardent early supporters is that he is right on the policy, and is willing to fight for it.

Whether or not Ted Cruz runs for President in 2016 remains to be seen, but one thing is certain; Cruz, Mike Lee and Rand Paul have revitalized the grassroots limited government constitutional conservative movement. They each have qualities that put them at the top of any list of prospective Republican presidential candidates for 2016, but the most important quality is that they are right on the policy, and are willing to fight for it. More than anything else that’s what conservative voters are looking for in the next Republican presidential candidate.

better than Rand

Ted Cruz is much more conservative than the liberal libertarian Rand Paul. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Rand is more liberal libertarian than he is conservative.

Sad to see this site giving qualified support to Cruz but full-throated support to Rand.

Sad and disappointing.

Cruz

Cruz is the controlled opposition. I hope that isn't true of R. Paul. Cruz has deep ties to the Bushes and his wife is CFR. She also worked for C. Rice (CFR) and is a Goldman Sachs banker. CFR is the preeminent globalist organization. YOu are a member by invitation only. there is no way they are not on board with the agenda.

“We are grateful to the Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine… whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the bright lights of publicity during those years. But, the work is now much more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries.” David Rockefeller

“The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is the American Branch of a society which originated in England ... (and) ... believes national boundaries should be obliterated and one-world rule established.” - Carroll Quigley, “Tragedy and Hope”.

We are likely to do better by building our “house of world order” from the bottom up rather then from the top down… an end run around national sovereignty eroding it piece by piece, is likely to get us to world order faster than the old-fashioned frontal assault. Richard Gardner CFR

"The best way to control the opposition is to lead it ourselves." - Vladimir Lenin

I Stand With Ted Cruz

Senator Cruz proved to me his conservative credentials when he spent over 21 hours on the floor of the Senate speaking out against the socialized medicine bill that continues to be vehemently opposed to this day by fully 2/3 of the electorate and over 83% of physicians. He is also for restoring us to small government, reducing our out of control deficits, getting us back onto a path of economic growth after the pattern of former President Reagan, and at the same time he will insure peace through strength and continue our close alliance to and protective stance on behalf of Israel, the one democracy in the middle east. Instead of hugging despots like Castro as Obama disgracefully did at the Mandela funeral recently, Ted will stand up to the Communists there and around the world, bringing America back to the morally correct ground we retained until Obamunism hit the Oval Office through usurper Barrack back in 2008. My grandmother's maiden name was Gimenez, so it would also be a pleasure for me to see the election of our first American President of Hispanic descent. Run, Ted. RUN...this patriot and countless others will be backing your candidacy...all the way to the Oval Office!
