Obama Advisor Says America is an Islamic Country: Is Caliphate Here “Inevitable?”

ISIS Crucifixion

Two weeks ago we told you about Mohamed Elibiary, a noted Islamist serving as a Senior Fellow on President Obama’s Department of Homeland Security’s Advisory Council, who predicted that a radical Islamist Caliphate in the Middle East was “inevitable.”

On the first day of the month of Ramadan (June 29, 2014), the reestablishment of the Islamic caliphate (state) was declared in Iraq and Syria and a caliph has been appointed to lead it. The Caliph — or leader — is Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the Iraqi-born leader of ISIS, the savage radical Islamist army that now controls large parts of Syria and Iraq.

The declaration of the establishment of the caliphate was transmitted via audiotape by Abu Muhammad al-Adnani, spokesman of ISIS -- the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (Greater Syria) -- which changed its name to “the Islamic State.”

The rule of the caliphate is currently applied only to the territory under its control. However, Lt. Col. (ret.) Jonathan D. Halevi, a senior researcher of the Middle East and radical Islam at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, reminds us that “this rule does not accept the existing borders or the division of the Muslims into different states on a national basis.”

In the view of the Islamic State, says Halevi, “the primal sin that led to the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, which was a continuation of the rule of the caliphate, lies in nationalism and in the adoption of Western ideologies, such as democracy, that are foreign to Islam. Hence, the jihad is aimed at overturning the existing order and enabling the expansion of the boundaries of the caliphate to encompass all territory where Muslims live.”

This brings us back to President Obama’s advisor Mohamed Elibiary.

According to a report from the Investigative Project on Terrorism, or IPT, reported by our friend Drew Zahn at, on the same day the Caliphate was proclaimed by ISIS Elibiary revisited an October 2013 tweet in which he claimed the U.S. was an “Islamic country,” explaining in another tweet Saturday, June 29 (reportedly since deleted), “I said America was an Islamic country not a Muslim country. Pls study up on the difference b4 attacking me.”

IPT reports a source close to Elibiary explained the Homeland Security adviser meant to say that he feels there is nothing in the U.S. Constitution and the American system that runs contrary to Islam.

IPT, however, also quoted Zuhdi Jasser, president of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, who rejected Elibiary’s claims.

“His entire attempt to repeatedly say that ‘American is Islamic’ is pure deception,” Jasser said. “In fact it is not.”

“Islamism is incompatible with liberty and is a supremacist doctrine,” Jasser continued. “In all of [Elibiary's] work, you will not find any critique of Islamism, the Islamic state, or government imposed shariah in his opinions or any admission of the deep reforms necessary for American ideals to be compatible with Islam.”

As we observed in our article June 16, 2014 article, “Obama Advisor: The Muslim “Caliphate” is Inevitable,” Dr. Sebastian Gorka and Frank Gaffney have documented how Muslim Brotherhood agents of influence, like Mohamed Elibiary and other “putative ‘representatives’ of the Muslim communities in the US have demanded that the White House review and censor all counterterrorism training materials and trainers used by the Defense Department and Department of Justice, their claim being that existing materials and trainers were un-Islamic or ‘Islamaphobic’.”

Thus, says Bruce S. Thornton, a research fellow at the Hoover Institution, and a professor of classics and humanities at California State University, Fresno, in 2008 “the National Terrorism Center instructed its employees, “Never use the term jihadist or mujahideen in conversation to describe terrorists,” since “In Arabic, jihad means ‘striving in the path of God’ and is used in many contexts beyond warfare.” Similarly, CIA chief John Brennan has asserted that jihad “is a holy struggle, a legitimate tenet of Islam, meaning to purify oneself or one’s community,” despite the fourteen centuries of evidence from the Koran, hadiths, and bloody history that jihad is in fact predominantly an obligatory armed struggle against the enemies of Islam. The reluctance to put Muslim violence in its religious context reflects not historical truth, but a public relations tactic serving the delusional strategy of appeasing Muslims into liking us.”

That’s why, to this day, says Thornton, “the 2009 murders of 13 military personnel at Fort Hood by Muslim Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan are still classified as “workplace violence” rather than an act of terror. This despite the fact that Hasan––whose business cards had the initials “SoA,” “Soldier of Allah,” on them––shouted the traditional Islamic battle cry “Allahu Akbar” during his rampage. Or that in a presentation at Walter Reed Hospital, Hasan had put up a slide with the great commission to practice jihad that Mohammed delivered in his farewell address: “I was ordered to fight all men until they say ‘There is no god but Allah.’” This command to wage jihad was echoed in 1979 by the Ayatollah Khomeini, revered as a “Grand Sign of God” for his theological acumen, and by Osama bin Laden in 2001. Those ignoring this venerable jihadist tradition must use verbal evasions like “workplace violence” and “striving in the path of God” to hide the indefensible––and failed––tactic of appeasement that prevents us from accurately understanding the religious motives of Muslim terrorists, and the extent of the Muslim world’s support for them.”

The Caliphate is coming to America, but as a government, we have blinded ourselves to such an extent that it has become practically impossible for a national security professional to understand what is going on in the Middle East and what drives groups like ISIS or Al Qaeda without getting into trouble for being politically incorrect.

If the Caliphate is “inevitable” it is only because the Obama administration has, through naïve and foolish political correctness, adherence to a dangerously cynical political agenda – or the penetration of Islamist agents of influence – allowed ISIS to reach critical mass and make the global Caliphate a reality.

IN order for the Islamic nations to advance, they need to have a "Lutheran moment". i.e. somebody need to explain to them that they are perfectly capable of reading what is written in their so-called holy books for themselves, without having to have some supreme leader tell them what it means and how to translate it to their own lives. Similar to the protestant movement in the catholic church, this alone will free the people to think for themselves. People who think for themselves desire democracy, or self-rule like we experimented with in the US for a short period.
One other question- has anybody checked to see if Obama is eating during the day? Inquiring minds want to know. If we find he is fasting until sundown, it would be a great tell...
