20 Republicans Who Deserve A Primary Opponent For Supporting Amnesty Before Veterans

House Armed Services Committee Meeting

Conservatives won a big battle on national security last week when an amendment authored by Rep. Mo Brooks (AL-5) passed. The Brooks amendment stripped a provision from the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that would have allowed illegal aliens to enlist in the U.S. military and thereby obtain citizenship.

The fight was precipitated by an amendment offered in the Armed Services Committee by freshman Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego (AZ-7). Gallego’s amendment allowed illegal aliens who have received President Obama’s first executive amnesty—the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), which some 800,000 or so illegal aliens have received—to enlist in the United States military.

Adding insult to injury, as Breitbart’s Matt Boyle observed, it would have come in an NDAA that reduces America’s force size—meaning the NDAA would have, if it weren’t for the Brooks amendment bolstered by conservatives like Rep. Steve King (R-IA) and Dave Brat (R-VA) among others, put illegal aliens ahead of Americans. What’s more, it would have used a defense bill—rather than an immigration bill—to do it.

That the Brooks amendment even got a vote was a minor miracle attributable to the outrage pouring from grassroots conservatives in the aftermath of the meeting of the House Armed Services Committee where Gallego pulled off his temporary coup.

A coup facilitated, we might add, by half-a-dozen Republicans who joined all of the Committee Democrats to vote in favor of putting illegal immigrants at the front of the line to enlist in America’s armed forces, at the same time experienced and committed troopers are getting pink-slipped.

That Democrats would sacrifice America’s national security to pander to racial politics is no surprise, but discovering that enough Republicans were willing to join them shows just how diluted the Republican Party has become in the age of Obama.

The Republicans who voted in Committee for the amendment to allow illegal aliens to enlist in the U.S. military are Reps. Martha McSally (AZ-2), Tom MacArthur (NJ-3), Frank LoBiondo (NJ-2), Chris Gibson (NY-19), Mike Coffman (CO-6) and Rep. Ryan Zinke (MT-At-Large).

But it was not a foregone conclusion that the Brooks amendment to strip the outrageous policy of allowing illegal aliens to enlist in the U.S. military out of the NDAA would even get a vote on the House Floor.

It was only after the outpouring of opposition from grassroots conservatives that a group of conservative House members threatened to derail the NDAA that the House leadership finally lurched into action with Rules Committee Chairman Pete Sessions and House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mac Thornberry supporting the Brooks amendment.

But even with all the pressure from the Right, 20 House Republican voted on the Floor to allow illegal aliens into the US armed forces at the expense of experienced and committed combat veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan.

These 20 “Republicans,” and if there was ever an example of a Republican In Name Only or RINO it is these 20, deserve a conservative primary challenge in 2016 and we stand ready to help their challengers in any way we can.

They are:

Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler (WA-3)

Rep. Mike Coffman (CO-6)

Rep. Jeff Denham (CA-10),

Rep. Carlos Curbelo (FL-26)

Charles Dent (PA-15),

Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-25)

Rep. Bob Dold (IL-10)

Rep. Chris Gibson (NY-19)

Rep. Richard Hanna (NY-22)

Rep. John Katko (NY-24)

Rep. Adam Kinzinger (IL-16)

Rep. Elise Stefanik (NY-21)

Rep. Fred Upton (MI-6)

Rep. David Valadao (CA-21)

Plus Montana's Rep. Ryan Zinke who voted for the Gallego amendment in Committee and then flipped and supported the Brooks amendment on the Floor.

Rep. Martha McSally

Evidentally Martha is not concerned about the military giving positions legal constituents from AZ would like to have in the military to illegal aliens. That is pretty bad since she is ex military. I do believe this should be Martha's first and last term in the house.

She was not too impressive when she ran in the election either but who knew she was this dumb.
