FedUp PAC Poll: Conservatives See Presidential Race as Trump vs. Cruz

Ted Cruz and Donald Trump

A majority of conservatives believe that the GOP presidential race has narrowed down to a contest between Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, according to a poll by FedUp PAC.  That is the view of 55%, with 32% expressing disagreement.

Trump’s warnings about Cruz’s birth in Canada have failed to resonate, with only 19% concluding that Cruz is not a “natural born citizen.”  Likewise, Cruz has persuaded only 37% that Trump is too closely tied to the GOP establishment, while 51% believe that Trump is still an “outsider” candidate.

There are mixed feelings about keeping the Republican Party united for November, with 52% saying they are very or somewhat concerned that Trump’s attacks on Cruz will be a long-term problem while 44% are not worried.

Conservatives are confident that an outsider such as Cruz or Trump can win the nomination, with 76% taking that position and only 10% disagreeing.  However, 84% are concerned that GOP insiders may find a way to nullify the wishes of the grass roots at this summer’s convention.

There is a variety of opinion on which Democrat would be easier to defeat, with 32% saying Sanders, 24% Clinton, and 30% believing it is too soon to know.

45% say that the number of GOP debates has been just right, while 35% believe there have been too many.  Only 9% think there should be even more.

FedUp PAC is a grassroots organization that advocates that constitutional conservatives take over the GOP because Americans are fed up with the Republican establishment.  It is not affiliated with any candidate or committee.
