Clinton Escapes Prosecution Conservatives React

Hillary National Enquirer Parody
Yesterday, FBI Director James Comey issued a statement setting forth a series of facts that Hillary Clinton and her top aides violated the four corners required for a felony charge under Section 793(f) of the federal penal code (Title 18): With lawful access to highly classified information they acted with gross negligence in removing and causing it to be removed it from its proper place of custody, and she transmitted it and caused it to be transmitted to others not authorized to have it, in patent violation of her trust.

Then, in truly Orwellian fashion, Director Comey announced there would be no prosecution of Hillary Clinton or her top aides for their obvious violation of the law.

While we weigh the political consequences of this stunning development for a future column we want to share links and reactions to the Clinton escape from some top conservative commentators.

From our friend former Assistant US Attorney Andrew C. McCarthy writing for National Review, “FBI Rewrites Federal Law to Let Hillary Off the Hook.

In essence, in order to give Mrs. Clinton a pass, the FBI rewrote the statute, inserting an intent element that Congress did not require. The added intent element, moreover, makes no sense: The point of having a statute that criminalizes gross negligence is to underscore that government officials have a special obligation to safeguard national defense secrets; when they fail to carry out that obligation due to gross negligence, they are guilty of serious wrongdoing. The lack of intent to harm our country is irrelevant. People never intend the bad things that happen due to gross negligence.

From Kerry Pickett, writing for The Daily Caller, “Obama DOJ Prosecuted More Gov. Officials For Leaking Classified Info Than Past Admins Combined.”

Barack Obama’s Justice Department has prosecuted more government officials for alleged leaks of information under the World War I era Espionage Act than all his predecessors combined — yet Hillary Clinton managed to avoid becoming part of that statistic Tuesday morning. FBI Director James Comey decided the bureau would urge that charges not be brought against former Secretary of State Clinton for her mishandling of classified information on her private email servers.

From our friend Richard Manning, President of Americans for Limited Government writing for FOX News, “Hillary Clinton: Too big to jail.”

Tuesday’s announcement that Hillary Clinton violated the law but shouldn’t be prosecuted is just the final nail in the coffin for the rule of law under the Obama administration. And the people’s referendum on whether a blindfolded Lady Justice should be resurrected and restored, will be held in November when Hillary Clinton stands as the very symbol of the new political elites who are now above the law.

From our friend LTC Allen West, writing for, “Here’s why I’m DELIGHTED about the FBI’s verdict on Hillary…

Have we decided there are political elites who are indeed above the law? It appears that is the case…but I believe the final vote will be cast by the American people. James Comey gave us every reason to look upon that stage in Charlotte, North Carolina, with abject disdain toward two of the biggest liars in U.S. political history. When Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton stood together on that stage, you saw two people who abandoned Americans to die and lied about it. We saw on that stage that the new American socialist party resembles the old Soviet politburo where there are no rules for the few — but rules, laws and edicts for others.

John C. Wohstetter, senior fellow at the Discovery Institute and London Center for Policy Research, writing for The American Spectator, “Connecting Dots — FBI Director Declines to Do So.”

Once again, the Clintons escape accountability for horrendous mishandling of classified information — in this case, for violations unprecedented on the part of a cabinet member in any administration since the law Hillary clearly violated was passed in the 1930s.

From political commentator Austin Bay, a contributing editor at and adjunct professor at the University of Texas in Austin, writing for, “James Comey Sells Out.”

This is beyond outrage. Everyone who has carried a Top Secret clearance and had access to Top Secret information knows that Clinton has criminally violated the laws protecting classified information. These laws serve a purpose. Protecting security secrets is essential to protecting America.

From historian and political commentator Victor Davis Hanson writing for National Review, “Washington’s Hollow Men.”

I should end by returning to Hillary Clinton, whose insider arc from the cattle-futures con to quarter-million-dollar Wall Street chats to the e-mail scandal shares the common and persistent theme of influence peddling, greed, and lying, while she lectures Americans about the need for trust, fairness, and transparency.

My Outrage

Just checking..... We hold both Houses of Congress so I assume we have the votes. Are there still impeachment laws on the books in this country ? Well, I am one American who thinks its time to test them. 1) Articles of Impeachment for the President (long in coming); Strenuous demand for the resignation or the impeachment of Fbi Director Comeny; resignation demand or impeachment of Loretta Lynch; Congress must appoint a Special Prosecutor for Hillary the Emails and the gross negligence immediately. I agree with Mark Levin, this is the crime of the decade. It deserves full throated Congressional Activity. Being 60 years old--I was in my teenage / young Adult years and remember Watergate vividly....where the Democratic Party gained real power and took pride in "getting Nixon" (to this day Nixon is the punching bag for the Left). How much more can this nation take ? I agree with writers today commenting that we have reached the level of Single Party state autocracies or soft-authoritarian Banana Republics. The people should organize a simple protest......How many laws can we break and then argue immunity ? Don't pay your taxes ; Speed, Don't follow any laws and support your move with a "hat tip" to Bill Clinton his former administration; Hillary Clinton and her Mafia like campaign. But seriously we must demand from the Republicans and the Trump campaign that the next President will criminalize, investigate and prosecute all the many quasi and real criminal transgressions and unconstitutional activities top to bottom since 2009...yes justice after the fact sustaining for once that no one person is indispensable. The President; the administration and Mr and Mrs Clinton should be branded as the greatest negative political force in US history. Please I plea that future history will record this and all these things for posterity. Frankly beyond this I am speechless over the situation. I sense our patriots are justifiably rolling in their graves.
