Democrats Cover Up Menendez And Weinstein Corruption

One of the more interesting historical coincidences of the past few weeks, one might even attribute it to a once in a lifetime planetary alignment, is the juxtaposition of the corruption trial of New Jersey’s Democratic Senator Robert Menendez and the revelations about the corrupt practices of Hollywood big wig and serial sexual predator Harvey Weinstein.

Both mixed big money, Democratic politics and using their power and money to obtain illicit sexual favors from Menendez corruptionwomen they could intimidate.

Sounds a lot like Bill Clinton, but we digress.

Because the establishment media has studiously avoided covering the trial of Senator Menendez, a brief review of the charges is in order.

In a 65-page court filing released publicly and published by Breitbart back in 2015, the Department of Justice laid out how their investigation into Menendez – and Democratic Party mega-donor Dr. Salomon Melgen – “began with serious and specific allegations involving child prostitution.”

The DOJ laid out how even though the allegations of child prostitution against Menendez and Melgen have not resulted in criminal charges, such allegations were “corroborated.”

Ultimately, prosecutors charged Menendez with taking bribes from Democratic mega-donor Melgen in exchange for using his office to help the doctor in a variety of ways.

Reuters reports that during the trial’s first six weeks, prosecutors presented evidence that Menendez pressured federal officials to secure visas for Melgen’s girlfriends, resolve a port dispute involving one of Melgen’s businesses and change a Medicare reimbursement policy after the agency determined Melgen had overbilled it by millions of dollars.

In exchange, Melgen showered Menendez with private flights, luxury vacations and hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions.

Both men deny wrongdoing and say Melgen was acting out of friendship.

If what Menendez and Melgan have is “friendship” it appears to be the kind of “friendship” that can only be consummated on a private plane visit to the Dominican Republic where one is greeted by underage hookers.

In the Harvey Weinstein matter we see the corruption from the other side: A Hollywood mogul and Democrat mega-donor who used his power and influence to try to turn movie actresses into hookers, and then threatened, intimidated and in some cases damaged their careers if they refused.

And who of course used his power and money and influence to shield himself for decades, even as his monstrous behavior became an open secret in Hollywood and New York.

Weinstein gave the Clinton Foundation at least $250,000, which it has declined to return. Weinstein also hosted fundraisers for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and donated more than $46,000 to the campaign and other election efforts.

Dozens of Democratic Party politicians – including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Sen. Sen. Al Franken, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Sen. Cory Booker also received money from Harvey Weinstein or were the beneficiaries of fundraisers he hosted.

Is it possible that Weinstein’s predatory behaviors was so strictly compartmentalized that no one in Democratic politics ever heard of any of the predatory behavior now being reported?

Actress Kate Beckinsale revealed how Weinstein targeted her in London when she was just 17, releasing a statement on Instagram, alongside a picture of her as a teen, claiming her career was "undoubtedly harmed" after she rejected his advances.

The UK’s Sun revealed Harvey Weinstein propositioned British TV star Myleene Klass with a sex contract, during a Cannes film festival luncheon 2010.

“Scream” actress Rose McGowan was paid a $100,000 settlement from Weinstein in 1997 following a hotel room incident, The Times reported. The settlement wasn't an admission of guilt, the paper described a legal document as saying.

The Times report also detailed how Weinstein, while in a bathrobe in his hotel room, had asked if he could give actress Ashley Judd a massage or if the star could watch him take a shower.

"How do I get out of the room as fast as possible without alienating Harvey Weinstein?" Judd told the newspaper she recalled thinking, according to Fox News.

Ambra Battilana Gutierrez, an Italian model and actress, met with Weinstein at his office in New York’s SoHo neighborhood in 2015, The Times reported. But Gutierrez reportedly called the police hours later saying Weinstein had grabbed her breasts, while asking if they were real, and put his hand up her skirt.

Battilana, a 22-year-old model from Italy, according to the New York Times, was wearing a wire during a subsequent meeting with Weinstein. As Ms. Battilana asked Mr. Weinstein why he had touched her breasts at his office, undercover police officers monitored the exchange, eager to capture his every word.

“Oh, please, I’m sorry, just come on in,” Mr. Weinstein said as he tried to usher her into his hotel room, his tone alternating between threatening and cajoling, according to the recording. “I’m used to that. Come on. Please.”

“You’re used to that?” she replied.

“Yes,” he said, adding, “I won’t do it again.”

As the police and prosecutors investigated the model’s allegations, the movie mogul set in motion a team of top-shelf defense lawyers and publicists to undermine her credibility.

In the end, the Manhattan district attorney, Cyrus R. Vance Jr., announced he would not press charges. Once the criminal case was closed, Mr. Weinstein silenced Ms. Battilana with a substantial payment.

It was later revealed that the Manhattan DA has taken thousands of dollars in donations over the years from David Boies, a longtime Democratic legal fixer who rose to fame as a lawyer for Bill Clinton during his impeachment – a scandal that also had its roots in Democrat power, predatory sex and corruption.

What is truly amazing and disgusting about both of these cases is that Democratic Party insiders, donors and activists allegedly knew about the corruption and sexual misconduct of Menendez and Weinstein for years and actively covered it up.

While the salacious details of the Weinstein and Menendez affairs have occupied the public mind a more important question is left unaddressed: What did the other Democrats know and when did they know it?
