When And How Will Gen. Mike Flynn Be Made Whole?

Trump on Michael Flynn pardon
The latest revelations in the persecution prosecution of LTG Mike Flynn have prompted us to revisit a December 6, 2018 column posted when it was first revealed General Flynn planned to plead guilty to lying to the FBI.

The evidence that has now, finally, been rooted out and brought to light by Flynn’s relentless attorney, former federal prosecutor Sidney Powell, appears to justify our complete confidence, then and now, that Gen. Flynn did nothing wrong.

For a complete review of the key evidence released so far see attorney Sidney Powell’s Twitter timeline @SidneyPowell1

Here’s what we said back in 2018:

All of this leads us to the conclusion that Flynn was set up in retaliation for telling the truth about the disaster that Obama and Hillary Clinton created in the Middle East.

Remember, the Flynn saga started when an intercept of his perfectly legal communications with the Russian Ambassador was leaked to the Washington Post. This leak could only have come from the highest levels of the Obama administration and has never been run to earth, even though it was a felony.

Former U.S. Attorney Joe DiGenova has charged that Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, Obama National Security Advisor Susan Rice, former Vice President Joe Biden, former FBI Director James Comey and former President Obama met in White House to discuss targeting General Flynn. (You can watch the DiGenova interview through this link.)

And from what we’ve been able to glean from our research Joe DiGenova has nailed it.

Our friend Dan Bongino said this about the Flynn prosecution:

When the clear eyes of history look back at the last few years the persecution of Mike Flynn by the tyrannical Mueller probe will stand out as a unique stain on our “justice” system. It’s disgusting what happened to this American patriot.

Now what the FBI and Justice Department have finally disgorged in response to Sidney Powell’s relentless demands is proof we were right back in 2018. The documents just unsealed, including handwritten notes dated January 24, 2017, the day of Flynn FBI interview say: “What is our goal? Truth/Admission or to get him to lie, so we can prosecute him or get him fired?”

Read the transcript notes, a of copy of the original which was just filed, through tweets by Catherine Herridge.

After the release of the latest tranche of Flynn documents Jonathan Turley, the Shapiro Professor of Public Interest Law at George Washington University, wrote an op-ed for The Hill which said in part:

Flynn was a useful tool for everyone and everything but justice. Mueller had ignored the view of the investigators and coerced Flynn to plead to a crime he did not commit to gain damaging testimony against Trump and his associates that Flynn did not have. The media covered Flynn to report the flawed theory of Russia collusion and to foster the view that some sort of criminal conspiracy was being uncovered by Mueller. Even the federal judge used Flynn to rail against what he saw as a treasonous plot. What is left in the wake of the prosecution is an utter travesty of justice.

Justice demands a dismissal of his prosecution. But whatever the “goal” may have been in setting up Flynn, justice was not one of them.

We agree. What’s more, the financial and reputational ruin visited upon General Flynn is especially grievous when one considers that vile people like Christine Blasey Ford and Stormy Daniels raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for their “legal defense” but a good man like General Flynn has been destroyed, not for lying to the FBI, but for telling the truth about the failures of Obama and Hillary Clinton. I have no idea what it will take to make General Flynn whole financially, but I have contributed to the Michael T. Flynn Legal Defense Fund, I hope you will too.
