How To Lose Your Majority - Message To Mitch McConnell And Senate GOP

Republican Senate Leaders
Lately, the DC Republican establishment has been wringing their hands and whining quite publicly about the prospect of losing the slim majority the GOP holds in the Senate. Mitch McConnell, John Thune and their highly paid consultants seem befuddled by the fact that a little over 100 days out from the election their candidates, especially some of their incumbents, are floundering.

We have a simple explanation of the problem and a simple answer that will guarantee a Republican majority in the Senate: Your problem is you have spent that past three years betraying the GOP base that elected Donald Trump President, so stop betraying conservatives, get off your ass and fight for the MAGA agenda and you will win. Keep doing what you are doing, and you will lose.

As our friend Rachel Bovard pointed out in a recent column:

The Senate’s fecklessness is less a bug than a feature of the 116th Congress. But for the conservatives among their constituents, it is more outrageous than ever, considering that Senate Republicans may be in the waning days of power.

And it’s not just that Republicans may lose the majority in November. It’s that the result—for Republicans, conservatives, people of faith, small businesses, and anyone who enjoys living in a pluralistic society where tolerance of multiple viewpoints is the norm—will be to lose everything.

Senate Democrats have made it very clear they intend to eliminate the legislative filibuster should they win the Senate in November. If it comes to that, the Senate effectively will turn into a chamber just as majoritarian as the House, with the minority party’s ability to influence legislative outcomes drastically diminished. An untethered Democratic Senate would unleash a parade of horribles: packing the Supreme Court, ending America’s energy economy with the Green New Deal, banishing religious liberty, and so forth.

It’s not an exaggeration to say that the Republican Senate is all that is standing between us and a Democratic Party that wants to remake our congressional institutions in a way that allows them to remake society.

But Senate Republicans seem oblivious to the disaster for constitutional liberty that looms on November 3, or rather they are oblivious to their role in setting it in motion and the narrow window they have to turn things around.

No one in the Senate GOP leadership seems to have demanded that Senator Lindsey Graham actually issue the subpoenas to Comey, Strzok, McCabe, Halper, Ohr, Susan Rice and Sally Yates, and Hunter Biden that he has been threatening and promising.

No one in the Senate GOP leadership has broken their silence and supported President Trump as he has almost singlehandedly battled the insurrection taking place in the streets of Democrat-controlled cities.

No one in the Senate GOP leadership stood with Senator Mike Lee of Utah has he spoke out against the outrageous betrayal of originalist constitutional principles in the Supreme Court’s recent decisions on abortion and the creation of a legislation-free body of transgender constitutional rights.

And it appears to have become an article of faith among the Senate’s GOP leaders that spending unlimited amounts of money on everything from federal lands to new rounds of “economic stimulus” is the way to assure the reelection of their majority.

History, and today’s polls, prove that these, and their many other betrayals, coupled with their deafening silence on the ongoing insurrection are a recipe for defeat.

As CHQ Chairman Richard Viguerie documented in his book TAKEOVER, “The disastrous policies of the Big Government Republicans and their content-free campaigns caused the voters to want to fire Republicans in 2006 and 2008—and certainly gave voters little or no reason to hire them in 2012.”

What turned things around was first the fire in the belly of the grassroots conservatives of the Tea Party, and in 2016, the white-hot desire to Make America Great Again of the conservative populist coalition of Donald Trump’s movement. Those fires are still burning to reelect Donald Trump, but they are at best banked, with embers dying for Republican Senate incumbents.

It doesn’t have to be this way. History shows us that when Republicans nationalize the election and Americans are presented with a clear alternative between a conservative vision of America and a liberal version of America, voters usually choose the conservative candidate. Republicans never, ever win a big election unless they nationalize the election by campaigning on a conservative agenda—drawing a sharp contrast between the Democrat worldview and the conservative worldview.

And, as the Democrats have moved further and further to the Socialist Left, it should be easy for Republicans to campaign against Democrats when:

Joe Biden said the police are the enemy of the people.

Joe Biden said he’s in favor of defunding the police.*

Joe Biden announced an immigration plan that grants citizenship to between 11 million and 20 million illegal aliens creating a tsunami of new Democrat voters that will ensure America becomes a one-party socialist state.

Joe Biden said he would rescind the religious exemption just upheld by the Supreme Court and force the Little Sisters of the Poor and other religious organizations to fund abortions.

New York Democrat Mayor Bill DeBlasio cut $1 billion from the New York police budget in the midst of the city’s largest murder surge in 30-years.

Relatively moderate Democrat Rep. Eliot Engel, the House Foreign Affairs Committee chairman, was defeated in the primary by Jamaal Bowman, a Far Left activist in the mold of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Rep. Ilhan Omar said Democrats want to dismantle the American economy and constitutional government, which she called a “system of oppression.”

Democrat Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Ayanna Pressley introduced bill to defund the police and give reparations to African-Americans, along with many other radical proposals.

Democrats announced their 2020 Platform would give asylum to the world’s migrants — inviting them all to the United States to live and work.

The Democrats announced their 2020 Platform will reinstitute and add to the oppressive Obamacare healthcare mandates.

Democrat activist and BLM founder and leader Shaun King said 'white European' Jesus statues should be torn down.

Democrat activist and BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors admitted she and other members of the organization are “trained Marxists.”

And in response to the mob destruction of a statue of Christopher Columbus in her hometown of Baltimore, Maryland Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said, "People will do what they do."

Republican Senators and Senate candidates who run content-free, keep your head down campaigns are destined to lose.

Our message is simple – if Republicans want to retain their Senate majority, have any hope of taking the House, and save America as a constitutional republic they have to get in the fight and draw a clear contrast between themselves as the conservative candidates of traditional values, law and order and economic opportunity and the New Far Left Democrats’ mob violence and socialist revolution.

*Chis Wallace was wrong: When he was asked whether he agrees that the government can "redirect" police funding, Joe Biden replied, "yes, absolutely."

Plenty of issues to run against

If you're a Republican, you have all the ammo in the world to go to battle and defeat Democrats. Run against anarchy. Run against "autonomous zones." Run against "defund the police." Run against open borders. Run against lockdowns. Run against racism, especially Antisemitism. Run against the Deep State. Run against the "enemy of the people," the mainstream media. Run against the "1619 Project." Run against "America was never great." Run against historical revisionism (the Founders were the bad guys, etc.). Run against "The Squad." Run against "you ain't black if you're not voting Democrat." Run against infanticide. Run against corruption, represented by Beijing Joe and the typical Washington DC establishment swamp creature. Does that cover it?

That's why I think Trump is in good shape to get re-elected, despite what the conventional wisdom might be in the Swamp. I think a combination of these issues are bringing back people that Trump lost in 2016. Those people bought what Hillary and NeverTrump were selling, but 4 years later, I don't think these same people will accept what Dems represent right now. To top it off, Beijing Joe is not even moving to the political center. He's all in for all of this. His crossover appeal is only for bitter NeverTrump people, who just want to see Trump lose, that's it. I would be suspicious as a Dem, to look around and see of all people, Bill Kristol, John Bolton, and Mitt Romney, among others, on my side. Well, I guess that's the problem. We have some Republicans living in bizarro world, where none of that is a problem, the only problem is Trump, and they have to play defense on that and not go on offense about what is clearly visible to the rest of us.
