A Cancer on the Papacy?

Patrick J. Buchanan, Townhall

The Church is going through perhaps its gravest crisis since the Reformation. "Who am I to judge?" said the pope when first pressed about the morality of homosexuality. Undeniably, Francis, and the progressive bishops who urge a new tolerance, a new understanding, a new appreciation of the benign character of homosexuality, have won the plaudits of a secular press that loathed the Church of Pius XII. Of what value all those wonderful press clippings now, as the chickens come home to roost in Vatican City?

The My Way Gospel Strikes Again

William Murchison, The American Spectator

The American way encouraged individualism; individuals, nevertheless, acting as such, were generally bound by society’s rulebook to take into account the rights and needs of others. The Catholic Church will purge itself — as it has done numerous times throughout numerous centuries. The task will be painful, like the lives of so many newly acknowledged victims of the My Way gospel. At least we know better now than before how cruel is that gospel. It is one reason we have churches — to show us such truths.

Bill Donohue, CNS News

Every Halloween we are treated to an extensive array of Catholic costumes, usually featuring priests and nuns. Some of the selections are cute; some are borderline offensive; and still others clearly cross the line. This year is no different. The only time we complain is when (a) the costumes are offensive and (b) similar costumes depicting non-Catholic religious figures are not available.

Hollywood’s ‘Spotlight’ Crew Gives Weinstein a Pass

Bill Donohue, CNS News

Hollywood's moral capital was never in big supply, but now it is shot altogether. We don't need one more lecture about cover-ups and sexual abuse in the Catholic Church. When it comes to deceit, lying, and sexual deviance, Hollywood has no rival.

Obama Spent Last 8 Years Sticking It to Catholics and Catholic Church

Bill Donohue, CNS News

White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough said this of Barack Obama. "I think this is the—our most Catholic of presidents. And I mean that by capital C Catholic, in what I see and what he does every day. It's not to say that he's—does everything entirely consistent with Catholic teaching. That's not the idea." Obama's record shows otherwise.

It would be wonderful for the Clinton campaign to repudiate the content of these ugly WikiLeaks emails. All of us backward-thinking Catholics who actually believe what Scripture and the Church teach would be so very grateful.

Failed Catholic Church Leaders Are the Problem

By Richard A. Viguerie, CHQ Chairman
The false narrative being spread to the Catholic faithful that capitalism is wrong is the fault of the leadership of the Catholic Church that has increasingly become a left-leaning ideological mouthpiece instead of fulfilling its role of providing spiritual guidance consistent with the Bible.

Michael Savage: Pope Should Redistribute Vatican's Income First

Greg Richter, NewsMax

Conservative radio host Michael Savage says if Pope Francis wants income redistribution he should start with his own Church. Savage said there is vast wealth within the Catholic Church, including priceless works of art and shares in global companies that could be sold for redistribution purposes.

National GOP On Texas Abortion Limits: The Gutless Party vs. The Party Of No Moral Compass

It is time for the RNC and Chairman Reince Preibus to speak and work in favor of the Texas bill or risk losing the right-to-life vote to a new organization that will stand for the principles national Republicans say they support, but never seem to actually step-up to fight for.

Priests Give Pelosi Abortion Ultimatum

Katie McHugh, Daily Caller

Catholic priests told Pelosi to rebuke abortion or leave the Church. She won’t admit that it’s murder.
