Middle Class

Democrats peddle doom, but the middle class never had it so good

Stephen Moore, Washington Times

For all of the constant talk about stagnant wages for the middle class since the 1970s, the average middle income household today has access to technology, entertainment, household appliances and health care that even rich people couldn’t buy in the 1960s. The folks at The Heritage Foundation have found that even poor families today are more likely to have access to things like air conditioning, dishwashers, televisions and lap top computers than middle class families did 50 years ago. These are the dividends from our free market capitalist economy.  Yes, of course, I know money can’t buy love or happiness. But let’s face it. More money is a lot better than too little. Prosperity is a wonderful thing.

It's a middle class boom

Stephen Moore, Washington Times

A study by former Census Bureau researchers and now statisticians at Sentier Research has found gigantic income gains for the middle class under Mr. Trump. The median — or average income family — has seen a gain of $5,003 since Mr. Trump came into office. Median family income is now (August 2019) $65,976 percent up from about $61,000 when he entered office (January 2017). Mr. Trump should begin asking Americans if they are better off than four years ago. Today, the answer to that question is clearly yes. It’s the economy stupid. Everyone — especially the middle class — is sharing in the fruits of the Trump boom.

Why Are the Western Middle Classes So Angry?

Victor Davis Hanson, PJ Media

The middle classes are revolting against Western managerial elites. The latter group includes professional politicians, entrenched bureaucrats, condescending academics, corporate phonies and propagandistic journalists. In the next few years, expect more grassroots demands for the restoration of the value of citizenship. There will be fewer middle-class apologies for patriotism and nationalism. The non-elite will become angrier about illegal immigration, demanding a return to the idea of measured, meritocratic, diverse and legal immigration. The anger directed at the elites will only increase until they give up -- or finally succeed in their grand agenda of a non-democratic, all-powerful Orwellian state.

Exit Polls Show ALL Demographics Shifted to GOP After '12

Ed Morrissey, Hot Air

The GOP made slight gains in 2014 over 2010 among blacks, 18-29YOs, the middle class, and a large jump among Asian-Americans. They lost ground among women, Latinos, independents, seniors and 30-44YOs, and both working class and the wealthy.

Buchanan: America is Rejecting the GOP’s Big Business Wing

Scott Greer, Daily Caller

“You’re not going to get back the middle class when you’re constantly appeasing big business — when folks are losing their jobs because of these trade deals, these masses of imports, these open borders, and the wars we’ve gotten into. I think the whole country is rejecting that,” Buchanan said.

OCare: Biggest Killer of Middle Class?

Michael Snyder, Zero Hedge

Record unemployment. Household incomes plummet. Povert numbers boom. Now Obamacare is causing millions to lose their policies, driving up premiums, and is killing jobs. The middle class is already stretched thin.
