On abortion, there's no such thing as a centrist Democrat anymore

Editors, Washington Examiner

On abortion, there is no room for dissent in the Democrat Party. The choice is simple: Support abortion on demand through all nine months of pregnancy and even beyond or lose the support of your party. Nowadays, you’d be hard-pressed to find a pro-life Democrat at all, let alone one who will proudly wear that label. If anything, mildly pro-life Democratic voters will treat their opposition to abortion as a private, personal preference. The problem with this excuse, made popular by the late Mario Cuomo, is that abortion is not about private beliefs. It’s a question of politics and human rights, about whether the government should prioritize human life or an adult's convenience.

Democrat Platform: Make you do things you don’t want to do

We have been listening very attentively to what the Democrats have been saying during their debates and campaign appearances, and all their statements and speeches always seem to boil down to one thing: They plan to make you do things you don’t want to do.

The Dumpster Fire In Vegas

Last night's Democratic Party primary debate was a real dumpster fire, and it was a dumpster full of Michael Bloomberg’s money that went up in flames. But the dumpster fire isn't out yet. Democrats still have to navigate a caucus system that was set up to stuff Bernie Sanders, but with Bloomberg's implosion they have no viable alternative to the socialist curmudgeon from Vermont.

Michael Bloomberg: Like Penny Loafers At A Rodeo

The entertainment of value of Bloomberg’s phoniness aside, the former New York City Mayor’s real problem is that the authentic Bloomberg would get buried in both the Democratic Party’s primary and the general election, because, judging by what the real Michael Bloomberg says in unscripted moments, he’s an even nastier elitist than Hillary Clinton.

The Myth Of The Moderate Democrat

Our friend Deroy Murdock recently posted an analysis of the legislative scorecards for the Senators still in the race for the Democratic Party's nomination for President. It turns out that so-called moderates Amy Klobuchar and Joe Biden have often posted scores to the Left of Socialist Bernie Sanders. What's more, former Mayors Bloomberg and Buttigieg are every bit as Far Left as Sanders, Klobuchar, Biden and Warren.

Billionaires Buying Or Bribing Their Way To Democrat Nomination?

Bloomberg has already tripled Trump’s 2016 spending, with no end in sight. Bloomberg has said he’s open to spending $1 billion dollars of his own money in his bid to become president, but whether he and Tom Steyer can use their billions to buy or use legal forms of bribery to build a loyal and effective campaign organization remains to be seen.

Amy Klobuchar Wins the Democrats’ Vice Presidential Nomination

Amy Klobuchar had minimal national name recognition before this presidential race.  The odds of her defeating Biden, Sanders, and Warren seemed overwhelmingly against her.  Yet she persisted.  And now she has enough of a demonstrated following to make her the logical vice presidential choice of either Sanders or Bloomberg.

Biden Slinks Out Of New Hampshire Before Results Are Announced

In a move reminiscent of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 Election Night disappearing act, the former vice president canceled his New Hampshire "victory party" as his campaign scrambles to keep his base of African-American support in South Carolina from crumbling under the weight of a fourth-place finish in Iowa’s chaotic caucuses and his humiliating fifth place finish in New Hampshire’s first in the nation primary.

We’re All Dog-Faced Pony Soldiers Now

Madison Moore’s question was a perfectly legitimate reality-based question, which Biden deflected with an insult rather than answering. While the form of Biden’s insulting deflection was something unique that only weird old Joe could ever come up with, deflecting legitimate reality-based questions is par for the course among this year’s field of Democratic presidential contenders.

Pete Buttigieg Is No ‘Moderate’ On Abortion

By holding his platform "close to his chest," Buttigieg and his handlers hope he can fake out enough people who don’t support radical ideas, such unlimited abortion up to and past the moment of birth, to get elected and proceed to implement the ideas he supposedly wasn’t for.

Mayor Pete's 'Promise'

Terence P. Jeffrey, CNS News

Mayor Pete Buttigieg wants to facilitate "choice" when it comes to killing an unborn child but not when it comes to educating a born one. Buttigieg opposes using federal funds to give parents vouchers. His campaign has published a policy paper that states his position on this. "And because public dollars should fund public schools, Pete will continue to oppose the implementation of any federal school voucher program," it says. In Buttigieg's America, parents who want to teach their children that marriage is between a man and woman, and that a men's room is for men, better have enough money to send their children to a private school that shares their values. Buttigieg clearly does not.

Feminists Exalt the Wonder of Abortion

L. Brent Bozell III and Tim Graham, CNS News

To leftists like Gloria Steinem, there's no such thing as a holocaust of tens of millions unborn babies, because they're not counted as actual human lives and they have no human dignity. Besides, those who support life for the unborn are Nazis. George Orwell, call your office. Our friend Katie Yoder wrote up all this nonsense on Townhall.com with a headline that accurately summarizes: "Gloria Steinhem and Jameela Jamil: There's 'No Democracy' Without Abortion." Jamil responded with Hollywood sophistication, tweeting: "I SAID WHAT I F—-ING SAID and you're clueless if you think I'm going to take it back. My life *is* more important to me than an unborn fetus' one. Suck on that."

Pelosi Promotes Good Stewardship of God's Creation (and Abortion)

Terence P. Jeffrey, CNS News

Nancy Pelosi issued three public statements while attending the United Nations Climate Change Conference. The first and third profoundly contradicted the second — in a way that can never be reconciled. First, Pelosi concluded that we have a "moral responsibility to be good stewards" of "God's creation." Second, Pelosi issued a press release announcing that she had submitted an amicus brief to the Supreme Court in the case of June Medical Services LLC v. Gee (on abortion being a fundamental right). Pelosi then turned back to the cause of protecting God's creation through climate action. Declaring the murder of unborn children a "fundamental right" can never be considered good stewardship of God's creation.

Liberal judge unjustly rules against pro-life journalist

Rebecca Hagelin, Washington Times

While the leftist Democrats accuse the president of endangering freedom of the press, they rejoice when a pro-life journalist is denied First Amendment protections. In this case, Mr. Daleiden not only had his rights trampled, he was fined some $2 million for exposing Planned Parenthood’s bloody criminal practices. The president of the United States and the brave journalists in California are being pummeled by powerful liberal elitists who will stop at nothing to destroy them. If they can overthrow an election and destroy the First Amendment, imagine what they will do to you if you get under their skin. Will we work and vote for candidates who will fight to protect our Constitutional rights?

Trump Fuels Rise Of Black Conservatives

Donald Trump’s campaign question to Black communities: What have you got to lose? Seems to have empowered a group of younger African Americans to run for office and offer conservatism as the alternative to the Democrats’ long record of neglect. And on Tuesday, Daniel Jay Cameron, one of the stars of this generation of Black conservatives, was elected as Kentucky’s Attorney General.

It’s Conservatives Against Soros And Hollywood In Today’s Virginia Election

Virginia is only 4 seats away from becoming the next New York. We urge every CHQ reader who is eligible to vote in Virginia to go to their polling place and vote today, Tuesday, November 5th. As Morton Blackwell said, everything is on the line for those of us who are conservative in Virginia.

Yesli Vega: This Conservative Hispanic Candidate is Poised to Make a Difference

By Richard A Viguerie, CHQ Chairman
We conservatives have a very attractive candidate as unique as a “purple cow” running for district supervisor in Prince William County, Virginia and she needs your help.  Yesli Vega is the conservative Republican nominee running for Supervisor in the Coles District, and she is a staunch movement conservative that we can all be proud of and get behind.

For Virginia Conservatives It’s All On The Line Tomorrow

Everything is on the line in the Nov. 5th election for those of us who are conservative in Virginia. If the Left gets control of the House of Delegates and the state Senate, they're going to make fundamental changes that are intended to turn Virginia into California.  And the Right to Life and the rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment are at the top of their plans to Californicate the Old Dominion.

Why is Hollywood so interested in Virginia’s November 5th elections?

All these Far Left Hollywood liberals know what every pro-lifer knows as well. Virginia is only 4 seats away from becoming the next New York. Flipping two seats in the House of Delegates and two seats in the Senate will give total control of the General Assembly to radical pro-abortion extremists who have made no secret they are determined to strip away all of Virginia’s pro-life laws!

California Mandates Free Abortion at Public Colleges

Alexandra DeSanctis, National Review

Democratic governor Gavin Newsom has signed legislation making California the first state in the country to require public colleges and universities to provide medical-abortion pills to students at campus health centers. This year has featured a number of controversial changes to state abortion policies across the country, as several states attempted to limit abortion earlier in pregnancy and a handful of others officially legalized abortion through all nine months of pregnancy. California state senator Connie Leyva, sponsor of S.B. 24, hopes her bill ushers in a new frontier in the national fight over abortion policy.
