Trump has done well in fulfilling the spirit of his candidacy and his supporters rest easy knowing he'll work tirelessly to Make America Great Again. Whether Congress allows him to get far in that quest is another matter. It’s now up to Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell.

Renowned US neuroscientist Dr. Michio Hirano, from the Columbia University Medical Center, is offering to try an experimental therapy on Charlie. But British doctors claim Charlie is blind, deaf, unable to move and badly brain-damaged and believe it is “cruel” to let him live any longer.

Republicans gain little or nothing by bailing on Trump. It didn’t work for Ted Cruz at the Cleveland convention last year and won’t have any better results today either. Conservatives are onboard with Trump’s agenda and it’s time everyone started pulling for the right side.

Making hard choices is something even the “deplorables” understand. Family budgets have not increased in years and the hope of something better is what drove tens of millions to vote for Trump. If Republicans are to keep their majorities in the future they need to remember that now.

If GOP “moderates” need perspective on the healthcare fight all they need to do is remember back to a year ago today when the party was fractured and there was little hope for unity. Then Republicans gathered in Cleveland to nominate Donald John Trump for president.

The Democrats are only interested in tripping up and delegitimizing Trump and talking about impeachment and Russia. It’s a tactic that is almost certain to come back to haunt them in the future. When it happens some might think it tragic; but it will still be fun to watch.

The hubbub over Donald Trump Jr. is the Washington establishment’s latest desperate ploy to delegitimize the Trump presidency. But if the ruling class is to make it work they’ll need something more substantial than junk emails and a kook like Natalia Veselnitskaya.

Please, send us what you have so we can better expose the deceit and hypocrisy of those who would fundamentally change America by undermining the rule of law and liberty. And maybe – just maybe – the GOP in Washington will see that what’s happening from within to undermine our constitutional republic and way of life is nearly as horrible as what you Russians are trying.

Americans should not forget the lessons learned from the Charlie Gard case or else all of us might someday end up just as a name on a clipboard somewhere in a cluttered government conference room with our life – or death – arbitrarily in a bureaucrat’s hands.

Europe's much-vaunted human rights laws have been of no use in protecting the life of disabled British baby Charlie Gard. Instead his parents have had to turn to America for help in their quest to save their baby.

For the people who will make the call across the pond or inside the Beltway, that’s the name of the game. They don’t give a damn about health care any more than they care about climate change or income inequality or the rights of the transgendered. For them, it’s all about power.

“If we can help little #CharlieGard, as per our friends in the U.K. and the Pope, we would be delighted to do so,” the president tweeted. This, of course, set off yet another frenzy of controversy over presidential tweeting, the politics of abortion and, of course, just how much authority we Americans, here on Independence Day, wish to give our federal government the power to convene its own death panels. It may be too late to save our cousins from their own suicide by death panel — but there still may be time to save America.
