Are Uncivil Protests and Mob Violence Winning?

Patrick J. Buchanan, Creators

Has the uncivil protest mob won already? People have gotten away with massive demonstrations blocking roads, highways and parks. Shopping areas in elite and working-class sections of scores of cities have been torched and looted. Police have been insulted, taunted and showered with debris. They have made mass civil disobedience an acceptable and even praiseworthy form of protest, if you are justifiably outraged. They have won near-immunity for burning and looting stores. Blanket amnesties at the state and city level appear to be in the cards. Media helped the radicals turn public opinion against the cops.

Trump Calls For Tougher Republican Response To ‘Political War’

Ben Domench, The Federalist

In a wide-ranging interview, President Donald J. Trump said that the country is in the midst of “a political war … where the left will use anything to win, including the culture.” The president said that to restore order and win in 2020, his Republican allies “need to be stronger” in standing up to rioters and those who would tear down statues. “They’ve got to get much tougher,” Trump said, drawing comparisons to moments when Republicans stood together on impeachment and in battles over judicial nominees. “They have to be stronger, have to come together,” or risk losing politically and worse.

Must See Sen. Tom Cotton Video: Biden Will Bring Anarchy To Your Hometown

Senator Tom Cotton is right, Joe Biden is too liberal and too confused to lead, and if we allow Joe Biden to be elected President, anarchy will be coming to our towns and cities. We urge CHQ readers and friends to watch the ad through this link to YouTube and then help make it go viral by sending the link to your family, friends, neighbors, fellow parishioners, civic club members and other contacts.

Peter Wood on the Vandalism of Civilization

Dr. Peter Wood is one of a small but brave band of academics who have the integrity to criticize the role of college and university faculty members and administrators in encouraging “the wreckage of the public square” as he put it. We urge CHQ readers and friends to call upon their colleges and universities, especially publicly funded institutions, to do their part in restoring the principles of respect for the common good and to oppose the wreckage of the public square.

Take Teddy Roosevelt Off Mount Rushmore While You Are At It

Like all historical figures, Teddy Roosevelt’s legacy is complex, but if his own descendants won’t defend the first President to invite an African-American to dine as a guest at the White House, far be it from us to take on the woke social justice warrior mob to defend the legacy of the egotist who split the Republican Party and set the stage for the election of Democrat Woodrow Wilson, one of the most virulent racists to ever sully American politics.

You can’t rally. We can riot

Stephen L. Miller, Spectator USA

These people want you to believe that this pandemic is caused by some magical woke virus, one which somehow skips those who have the right politics. What it actually does is raise the suspicion that Democrats and progressives have wanted to keep the economy shut down and people at home as long as possible to affect the outcome of the November election. Your job and your family or your church (also protected by the First Amendment) are not important. Our joining in large crowds to protest is. Democrats enthusiastically encouraged the world to disregard lockdown and people will now follow their lead.

Democrats Run Cities Where Cops Kill Blacks

A group, led by some of America's most prominent African-American conservatives, has addressed a letter to President Trump and Congress pointing out that in the wake of George Floyd’s unjustified death, well-organized agitators and Democrat politicians have weaponized Mr. Floyd’s death to demonize law enforcement, President Trump, and conservatives in general, by conveniently hiding the fact that the Minneapolis city council and mayor—along with the district’s congresswoman, both senators, and the Minnesota governor—are all Democrats with a decidedly anti-American agenda.

Why Can’t Democrats Run A Competent Police Force?

Democrat-run big cities -- New York, Baltimore, Chicago, and Minneapolis are notable cases -- that continue to struggle with relations between the police and minority communities; in some cases, those relations have even regressed. The media rarely acknowledge this monumental failing of the Democratic Party, and it seems to evoke little self-reflection among urban Democrats themselves, because it is much easier to blame Donald Trump and imaginary systemic racism than it is to train and manage a competent police force.

Conservative Leaders: Justice, Not Chaos

Over 100 conservative leaders representing millions of grassroots conservatives nationwide have released a “memo to the movement” decrying the violence in the wake of the killing of George Floyd and urging state, local and national authorities to respect peaceful protests while acting with alacrity to restore law and order when individuals and organizations turn to violence and use Mr. Floyd’s death to pursue an agenda of social conflict and destruction.

Democrat Campaign To Delegitimize 2020 Election Intensifies

"The only way Trump can win is if he cheats" and "the military will have to pry him out of the White House" are two key information warfare themes that Democrats and their Far Left allies have been pushing hard since the election season started in earnest and they see them as key elements of their strategy to get the 2020 election into what we call “the margin of chaos.”

Nigel Farage Is Right, Of Course BLM Is Like The Taliban

Nigel Farage, the British patriot behind the oft-postponed British exit from the European Union, had his microphone cut during an appearance on Good Morning Britain and was cut loose from his LBC Radio Show with "immediate effect" amid anger over comments he made comparing Black Lives Matter (BLM) to the Taliban, but as we explain in this article, Mr. Farage is right.

Democrats exploit well-meaning passions in cities seeking relief

Tammy Bruce, Washington Times

Voter registration efforts are a focus of the BLM organization, the NAACP and other Democratic-allied organizations. For those living in the inner-city, the corporations that are sending millions to groups such as the ACLU, Black Lives Matter and the NAACP, among others, are doing so with the intent to improve peoples’ lives. The past, however, indicates they are instead funding efforts invested in the political status quo keeping people trapped in cities where generations of lives have been lost to self-obsessed politicians and a political party that sees suffering as a political necessity.

Lessons From Antifa’s Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone

Communist thugs of Antifa have declared a six-block area of Seattle to be “autonomous” with signs on barricades that read: “You are now leaving the USA.”  Those not infected with Leftwing insanity should recognize this occupation for what it is – another probing movement in the counter-state’s campaign to delegitimize the government of the United States of America.

Law and Order Isn’t Fascist

Rich Lowry, National Review

Trump, like Cotton, distinguished between peaceful protesters and rioters, and surely one purpose of his tough talk on federal troops was to prod governors and mayors to get a better handle on the situation on their own. No one has talked about crushing peaceful protests. No one has urged the stifling of dissent (no one, that is, outside of the New York Times and other “woke” circles). Kristallnacht it was not. No one has talked of suspending the election. In fact, to this point, Trump has been faulted for wanting an overly normal election, with a traditional convention and standard in-person voting.

The Clear Differences Between the Left and the Right

Stephen Moore, The Epoch Times

The crisis of the economic lockdown and now the violent protests in the streets have unleashed a depression-level financial crisis and unprecedented human suffering—especially in our inner cities. These events have also exposed a huge chasm that now separates how the left and the right see America today. To wit: No. 1: The right believes that stay-at-home orders and social distancing requirements are counterproductive and should be repealed safely and immediately. The left believes that those orders must stay in place but should only apply to those on the right, not to liberal protesters... (Ten more)

Ted Cruz: Democrat calls to defund the police are asinine

Senator Ted Cruz was right, “Democrats’ calls to defund or disband the police are asinine and would end up killing many Americans if enacted.” We urge CHQ readers and friends to call their local city officials to demand that they increase their community’s law enforcement budget and that their local leaders recognize that calls to defund the police are another step in the long march to fundamentally change America into a socialist oligarchy.

Senator Josh Hawley To AG Barr: Investigate Religious Discrimination By Local Officials

Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri was spot on in his letter to Attorney General Bill Barr. What is now obvious is that the rules imposed by the states of California, Michigan and other Democrat-run localities not only favored one type of First Amendment speech over another, but they were completely arbitrary and capricious – there was absolutely no “science” behind any of the restrictions on religious gatherings.

It’s Not A Protest, It’s Not A Riot, It’s A Revolution (Conclusion)

The killing of Mr. Floyd was a tragedy, but the spring-loaded narratives that followed were pre-packaged and are aimed at delegitimizing law enforcement in advance of a period of pre-election day violence. Looking at the information presented in "It’s Not A Protest, It’s Not A Riot, It’s A Revolution" in its entirety, the riots and street violence now occurring were foreseeable, were foreseen, and, as is already occurring, designed to go national.

It’s Not A Protest, It’s Not A Riot, It’s A Revolution (Part 5)

As our friends Steve Coughlin and Rich Higgins demonstrated, cultural Marxism and Maoist insurgency concepts are powering the Left’s counter-state narratives and political warfare and have now become so embedded in American media that they are molding the behavior of Republicans, as well as already sympathetic Democrats, leaving our country without, as Angelo Codevilla put it, any possibility of “stepping back” from the current civil war.

NYT Melt Down: Sen. Cotton Suggests Trump Do What Ike Did When Democrats Sided With Rioters

What is the difference between Arkansas Governor Orval Faubus, a racist Democrat, siding with the rioters to prevent the integration of Little Rock Central High School and New York Mayor Bill DeBlasio, a racist Democrat, siding with the rioters and looters destroying Manhattan’s retail district? Both used the power of their office to incite violence to achieve political ends.
