Assault on America, Day 435: Coronavirus will neither help nor hinder Trump’s reelection drive

Coronavirus is a serious matter and President Trump is giving it its due consideration. Life must go on and Trump’s reaction to the fears of normal people is in line with what any leader should do. If the president went around acting scared, it would only make things worse. Be thankful for competent political leadership at times like these.

Assault on America, Day 434: To Democrats, everything and nothing sounds good at one time

Regardless of the reasons, Democrats are pretty much stuck with Joe Biden -- and all that comes with him -- for their party nominee. The 2020 field’s women candidates didn’t lose because of their gender; they lost because they weren’t good choices and the establishment first sought to take care of their own.

Assault on America, Day 433: Biden momentum surge destined to drown in sea of hypocrisy

The past couple weeks demonstrated how quickly things change in the world of politics and how voter attitudes often shift without explanation. One thing that will likely remain the same is President Trump’s hold on the loyalty of conservatives and Republicans. Democrats can’t match it, regardless of who wins their nomination.

Assault on America, Day 432: Jealousy and envy of Trump won’t heal Democrats’ deep divisions

Democrats envy Donald Trump, and the jealousy doesn’t end there. Liberals see a Republican Party united like never before and the daunting prospect of battling an incumbent president who’s (literally) survived trial after trial. There are dark clouds on the horizon and Democrats are justifiably terrified.

Assault on America, Day 429: Would Donald Trump really dump Mike Pence for Nikki Haley?

Just because the Democrat establishment was able to pull off a miracle and save Joe Biden’s candidacy from the political trash heap doesn’t grant them license to start giving President Trump advice – or to predict that he’s about to dump Mike Pence for Nikki Haley. Time and events are on Trump’s side – and he knows it.

Assault on America, Day 428: Resurrected Joe Biden ain’t any better than the one left for dead

Joe Biden just ain’t that smart. And voting against Trump won’t be enough, especially since Harry Reid tipped Democrats’ (empty) hand early – all they have is racism and fear mongering going for them. That’s Hillary redux, not a winning message. Democrats very well could regret bringing Joe back from the political dead.

Assault on America, Day 427: Democrats forget Joe Biden is/was an awful (and old) candidate

With the Democrat nominating contest dwindled down to two viable contenders, the chances of party voters settling on one clear leader before their convention aren’t great. The effort to stop Bernie Sanders will continue but it’ll take something akin to a miracle to make either of them look as strong and vibrant as Trump.

Assault on America, Day 426: What Super Tuesday won’t solve (Trump and minority voters)

After Super Tuesday, much discussion will focus on the remaining viable candidates in the Democrat presidential race, but it shouldn’t be ignored how President Trump’s campaign is gaining a foothold with once solid Democrat constituencies. This won’t change regardless of whether it’s Bloomberg, Biden or Sanders that eventually faces him.

Assault on America, Day 425: Bloviating Biden wins one for the ruling class in South Carolina

Joe Biden will no doubt enjoy his South Carolina victory, but he shouldn’t get cocky. Super Tuesday looms large on the horizon and his prospects don’t look nearly as promising in the days ahead. The Democrat presidential race is more confused than ever, and the Palmetto State only made it worse.

Assault on America, Day 422: Dems’ coronavirus hype is climate change with a Chinese face

Some people need a reason to worry about something and that certainly appears to be the case where the coronavirus is concerned. With any number of more pervasive and lethal problems all around us, it just doesn’t make sense to scare the bejesus out of people for no legitimate reason. It’s all about politics, isn’t it?

President Trump Stop Sharing Intelligence With Democrat Leaker Adam Schiff

The recent leaks from the intelligence briefing on Russian meddling in the 2020 presidential election are an indication that leaking has become untenable ever since Schiff took over as House Intelligence Committee chairman in January 2019. We urge President Trump to cut off Schiff's access to classified intelligence to end Schiff's use of secret intelligence as a political weapon.

Assault on America, Day 421: R’s and D’s bet on boost in voter turnout in 2020. Will it happen?

It’s curious that in 2020, the establishment media doesn’t have to work hard to hype the upcoming election. Should the contest eventually boil down to Trump versus Sanders, there will be plenty of people participating who previously didn’t give a squat about politics. Who will come out ahead?

Assault on America, Day 420: Did Democrats trigger a civil war in South Carolina again?

South Carolinians vote on Saturday and then on Super Tuesday, March 3, 1,617 total delegates will be awarded in 14 state primaries. Democrat voters will determine the winners and losers of party debates, and if the past is any indication, Bernie Sanders offers the most of what they like to see. Is America watching?

Assault on America, Day 419: Sanders and Dems bank on youthful ignorance to fuel campaign

As the Democrat presidential race moves towards the South Carolina primary and Super Tuesday on March 3, the non-Bernie Sanders candidates recognize they’re in a tight spot. Time is running out to alter the course of the contest, so expect another bash-on-Bernie fest in the Palmetto State debate tonight.

Mike Bloomberg’s Technocratic Threat

Rich Lowry, National Review

Trump, whatever his personal and institutional failings, is backstopped by a conservative legal movement that has worked with him to pump originalist judges through the Senate. These judges will remain a bulwark of conservative constitutionalism long after Trump has departed the scene. Bloomberg’s technocratic instincts, in contrast, run with the grain of contemporary progressivism. There will be no checks on his natural tendency toward unilateral rule through the administrative state. Democrats may yet come to believe that only Mike Bloomberg can save the country — but what he emphatically won’t be saving is a view of the government as circumscribed by an old, yet sacrosanct, Constitution.

Assault on America, Day 418: Budding Democrat civil war will end in mass casualties, no survivors

The beneficiary of the Democrats’ nomination struggle is President Trump himself. It doesn’t take a genius to see Trump is drawing strength from the Democrats’ unfortunate situation and the coming months should be truly entertaining – and revealing. Pass the popcorn and soda; this is better than a matinee at the movie house.

Assault on America, Day 415: Trump rides ‘The Beast’ at Daytona, cruises to victory in November

There’s little doubt President Trump’s appearance at the Great American Race last Sunday turned heads and raised eyebrows among the Democrats and his #NeverTrump critics. Anti-Trumpers look on helplessly while Trump gathers momentum for the fall campaign, just like “The Beast” circled the track at Daytona.

Assault on America, Day 414: Las Vegas pounding knocks the Bloomberg off Mike’s rose

Not even the infusion of new blood made this debate any more interesting than the previous iterations. The only thing the Democrat Vegas debate revealed was that the party has a heck of a Sanders-sized problem on their hands. Even if Biden somehow jumpstarts his on-deathwatch campaign, or Bloomberg emerges, or Klobuchar, or Buttigieg, or even “Pocahontas” Warren surges -- they still have to confront Trump later this year.

Assault on America, Day 413: Floating Hillary as VP won’t win Bloomberg any bets in Vegas

National elections have a way of sorting things out and this year’s will be no different. Tonight, Democrat presidential candidates will hem and haw about “unity” and “restoring the soul of the nation,” but there’s no getting around the fact we’re one divided nation. And having Hillary Clinton as vice presidential nominee wouldn’t make it better.

Assault on America, Day 412: Fundraising and policy success is Trump’s way to ‘feed the wolf’

It is undoubtedly true that money helps “feed the wolf” in political campaigns. Without it you can’t pay staff, purchase advertisements, send out mailers or do other tried-and-true canvassing methods. But big bucks don’t buy everything. President Trump has a healthy war chest and issues on his side -- and that’s all he needs to succeed in November.
