This is the first in a series of ten articles highlighting important conservative agenda items for the Republican House majority.
No doubt there will be many conservatives who will question why we chose impeaching Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas as our first item on a conservative agenda for the new Republican House majority, but it is really quite simple: Mayorkas is the nexus of two of the biggest Biden administration’s scandals, the complete collapse of our southern border and the federal government’s domestic social media surveillance and censorship programs.
In the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, 2022, illegal aliens were stopped 2.38 million times, up 37% from 1.73 million times the year before. The Associated Press reported the annual total surpassed 2 million for the first time in August 2022 and was more than twice the highest level during Donald Trump’s presidency in 2019.
All told, the Federation for American Immigration Reform estimates over 5.5 million illegal aliens have entered the United States since Biden took office.
To put that in perspective, that is about 1 million more people than the entire population of Los Angeles and more than the population of 28 of the 50 states. Indeed, that’s more than the population of the six smallest states combined!
"Nothing will improve until there is a public servant leading the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) who believes in borders—and secure ones at that. We cannot even begin to reverse this disaster so long as our nation's immigration policies are in the hands of someone who is bent on compounding it. No matter how late at night this administration releases data, the numbers still speak for themselves. President Biden needs to clean house at DHS, and, if he is not prepared to do it, Congress needs to clean it for him, beginning with the impeachment of Secretary Mayorkas," said Dan Stein president of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).
And we couldn’t agree more, but what really sets Mayorkas apart from other failed bureaucrats of the Biden administration is his active leadership of the Department of Homeland Security’s domestic spying and censorship program.
As Senator Josh Hawley explained in a release posted to his website, in June, whistleblower documents obtained by Senators Hawley and Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) revealed a first-look at DHS’s internal plans for a “Disinformation Governance Board,” including a potential partnership with Twitter and a public-facing “Rumor Control Program.”
New documents now show that, despite Secretary Mayorkas’s testimony in May that the Board hadn’t met, the Disinformation Governance Board Steering Group had begun meeting on a weekly basis as early as February 2022 and already had operational authorities.
The new documents also reveal that the Disinformation Governance Board planned to partner with Big Tech were far more extensive than DHS or the White House has admitted. Internal emails detail how DHS officials planned to meet with Meta’s Head of Security Policy Nathaniel Gleicher in February 2022, the same official who was in charge of security during Facebook’s suppression of the New York Post’s reporting on Hunter Biden ahead of the 2020 election. The Disinformation Governance Board also planned to establish an “analytic exchange” with “industry partners” in Big Tech.
Finally, the documents expose how the Disinformation Governance Board coordinated with the Omidyar Network, a left-wing dark money organization that has funneled millions of dollars into liberal advocacy groups.
Translation: Mayorkas lied to Congress and the federal government’s spying and censorship were directed only at conservatives, not liberals or progressives, or the violent radical Left.
Rep. Pat Fallon (R-Texas) has filed articles of impeachment against Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, “engaged in a pattern of conduct that is incompatible with his duties,” and charging he has failed to maintain operational control over the border. The primary basis for the articles of impeachment is the claim that Mayorkas lied to Congress — a case they back by pointing to two instances in which the secretary told lawmakers he believed the Southern border was under control, so Mayorkas's lies about the Biden administration's censorship and spying make at least three impeachment-worthy lies to Congress.
Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy has said the House will investigate Mayorkas’ policies and look into whether they warrant an impeachment proceeding, but has not explicitly committed to pursuing Mayorkas’ removal from office. We urge CHQ readers and friends to click here to use the Americans for Limited Government tool to send an email to Congress demanding Mayorkas be impeached.

I'm an advocate for warfare against Biden's illegitimate regime. They are all enemies of the People. Not simply because they are Democrats, but because they are an extension of Little Joe Biden, a man who defrauded the People of this great country to usurp the position of President. Maxine Waters told us how to handle this situation..."push back" on these illegitimate Cabinet members, "they're not welcome anymore, anywhere." Yes. For once, I agree. They are not welcome to flap their gums lying to Congress, trample on our 1st Amendment rights, enshrine lies as truth. They are governing against the will of the People, therefore they all must go. Never should have been there in the first place.
I can't think of a single official in Bite-Me Biden's administration that doesn't need to be impeached, convicted, and hanged from the highest tree possible. And Bite-Me Biden would be far and away the best possible one to start with. But if we can't do him then Mayorkas would be just as good.
