As our friends at The Post Millennial noted yesterday, over the last four years, CNN has been

at the heart of many hoaxes from the disgraceful Covington kids racism hoax to the Jussie Smollett hate crime hoax to the completely debunked Russia collusion hoax.
Indeed, just this past week, CNN passed off a dangerous and violent Antifa supporter and BLM activist as a journalist, that same man who has since been charged in connection to the Capitol riot.
Even more recently, CNN falsely reported that a Virginia man was arrested near the Capitol with "fake inaugural credentials" and a loaded gun. In reality, the man had a Park Police pass, and was cleared of any wrongdoing.
It appears, wrote PM contributor James Anthony, that CNN wants to lie to you, and they want to eliminate all voices that will call out those lies.
To that end on Sunday’s “Reliable Sources” program, host Brian Stelter asked his guest panel for suggestions on to censor Newsmax and OAN as their ratings soar.
“We are going to have to figure out the OAN and Newsmax problem. These companies have freedom of speech, but I’m not sure we need Verizon, AT&T, Comcast and such bringing them into tens of millions of homes,” former Facebook chief security officer Alex Stamos told Stelter.
“We have to turn down the capability of these conservative influencers to reach these huge audiences. There are people on YouTube for example that have a larger audience than daytime CNN. And they are extremely radical and are pushing extremely radical views.”
Stamos went on to complain that the American people have the freedom to choose their news content.
“It’s a problem because people are able to seek out the information that makes them feel good. People have so much choice now. They can choose what their news sources are, they can choose what influencers they want to follow,” Stamos said.
“And that becomes a huge challenge to figuring out how you bring those people back into the mainstream of fact-based reporting and try to get us all back into the same consensual reality.”
Fact-based reporting? Give us a break, CNN has no monopoly on fact-based reporting, but they do have a significant role in promoting the party line for the new Far Left Democratic Party.
So, it didn’t take long for CNN employees to start a campaign to get OAN and NewsMax deplatformed.
CNN tech and politics reporter Oliver Darcy launched a couple of trial tweets start to build pressure on the cable companies to drop OAN and Newsmax.
Tweeting from his @oliverdarcy account he wrote:
"We are going to have to figure out the OAN and Newsmax problem. These companies have freedom of speech, but I'm not sure we need Verizon, AT&T, Comcast and such bringing them into tens of millions of homes," @alexstamos tells @brianstelter
And then a short time later he tweeted:
Just a reminder that neither @Verizon, @ATT, nor @comcast have answered any questions about why they beam channels like OAN & Newsmax into millions of homes. Do they have any second thoughts about distributing these channels given their election denialism content? They won't say.
Darcy’s Leftist audience was quick to offer suggestions about how the OAN and NewsMax “problem” might be solved, with Kevin O'Keefe (@kevinok1) tweeting this suggestion:
What if Congress passed a bill requiring networks like FoxNews, OAN and Newsmax to remove “news” from their names and make opinion programs (radio and tv) include a disclaimer after every commercial break that this is opinion and that statements may not be factually accurate...
It wouldn’t solve the problem of polarization, but it might start us down the path of differentiating between subjectivity and objectivity. We need to do SOMETHING about the problem, don’t we?
And as if on cue, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez revealed that Congress is looking into creating an investigative commission to “rein in” the media in the wake of the US Capitol siege.
During a lengthy Instagram Live reported by the New York Post’s Ebony Bowden she revealed that she feared for her life during the Leftist-inspired riot at the U.S. Capitol, the “Squad” member accused the mainstream media of “spewing disinformation” ahead of the January 6 brawl.
“There’s absolutely a commission that’s being discussed but it seems to be more investigating in style rather than truth and reconciliation,” Ocasio-Cortez said according to Ms. Bowden’s reporting.
“I do think that several members of Congress in some of my discussions have brought up media literacy because that is part of what happened here,” Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) went on.
“We’re going to have to figure out how we rein in our media environment so you can’t just spew disinformation and misinformation,” she said.
“It’s one thing to have differentiating opinions, but it’s another thing entirely to just say things that are false, so that’s something that we’re looking into,” concluded Rep. Ocasio-Cortez.
We are guessing that investigating CNN for its lies and disinformation will not be high on the Squad’s soon-to-be-formed commission on truth and media literacy.
How the coordinated efforts to destroy competitors by CNN passes anti-trust scrutiny is beyond us – but in this time of two-tiered justice they may get away with it. The toll-free Capitol Switchboard is (1-866-220-0044), tell Republican Senators and Representatives that it is only a matter of time until they too are banned and demand that they stand against any media censorship commission backed by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other members of the Squad.

Just a reminder that neither @Verizon, @ATT, nor @comcast have answered any questions about why they beam channels like OAN & Newsmax into millions of homes.
Maybe somebody should ask @Verizon, @ATT and @comcast about why they beam CNN into millions of homes. The fact is that nobody is being forced to tune into OAN and Newsmax. CNN simply doesn't like freedom and free speech. If I choose to tune into Newsmax TV rather than FOX or CNN, am I committing some sort of treason against government or reason or whatever?
CNN is jealous of the self-help video platform YouTube? That says a lot about the fecklessness of CNN as a serious source of news. As for the simpleton mouthpiece of the squats, all I can say is: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the FREEDOM OF SPEECH, or of the PRESS...Amen.
I suppose you do have to sympathize with those such as CNN, MSNBC and AOC, as it must be extremely difficult to dispense propaganda when the truth is so easy to obtain.
They truly want to form a "Ministry of Truth" and become the sole proprietors and the absolute arbiter of what they deem to be truth, or in their case, propaganda!
This, from those who have spent the last four years proving to the nation how willingly they will lie, in order to promote an agenda, to contort a narrative, deliberately mislead the population. Better they are know as the "Ministry of Propaganda and Lies!"
Be forewarned, this is but the start, Biden has not been sworn in and…
