The conservative leaders of the Conservative Action Project (CAP) have issued the following

statement urging conservative in Congress to back President Donald Trump’s attack on government waste, bloat and inefficiency in grant funding, organizational charts of agencies, and even in the missions of federal offices:
President Trump is acting swiftly and decisively on his mandate to restore accountability, efficiency, and legality within the federal government. Conservatives in Congress must now support him in that effort with prudent management of the March 14 funding deadline.
In a matter of weeks, the Trump administration has identified key areas of waste, bloat and inefficiency in grant funding, organizational charts of agencies, and even in the missions of federal offices. Rather than simply point it out, the administration is taking decisive steps to address it – for example, by shuttering the offices of the U.S. Agency for International Development to reassess the mission of the organization while contemplating its possible reorganization under the State Department.
Conservatives have waited decades to see this kind of reform action come to Washington. We applaud the Trump administration for their work.
However, it is critical that conservatives in Congress support these efforts. Conservatives must present a funding strategy for appropriations and reconciliation that reflects the priorities of the Trump administration to clean up waste, restore accountability to the federal workforce, address the illegal immigration crisis, and support the efforts of the Department of Government Efficiency to make actionable recommendations.
The President is doing what he was elected to do. Conservatives in Congress must not undermine him with funding bills that simply continues the out-of-control spending and failed Biden administration’s policies responsible for so much of the rot that is now, thankfully, being exposed.

Congress is already undermining Trump. Republican leadership in both houses is generally corrupt and anti-Trump, and doing nothing toward producing a budget that would cut unnecessary and unaffordable spending. Instead, they seem intent on doing nothing until the funding runs out, and then claiming there is no alternative to another CR maintaining the previous administration's spending to keep the gravy train rolling.
