Conservative Leaders: Senate Must Block Democrats’ Draft Our Daughters Plan

We have previously told CHQ readers about the “Draft Our Daughters” language in the House National Defense Authorization Act or NDAA. Legislation such as this has always

been a bad idea, said Center for Military Readiness President Elaine Donnelly, but a key section of the amendment, which has received almost no public awareness or debate, also would change the purpose of Selective service. This blank check amendment would greatly expand Big Government power, at a time when the Biden Administration already is exceeding its authority.

The fact that such a radical, unjustified change is being made without hearings, public debate, or informed national discussion is unconscionable.

As CMR has explained previously, inclusion of women for purposes of “equity” would jam the induction system and slow mobilization due to physical differences that are not going to change. The predictable clash between egalitarian theories and harsh physical realities could cost lives and weaken national defense at the worst possible time.

Now, in an open letter from the leaders of organizations representing millions of grassroots conservatives, the conservative leaders of the Conservative Action Project have added their voices to the rising chorus against drafting our daughters and turning the Selective Service Act into a way to force all eligible Americans into government labor schemes.

Washington, DC

Conservatives vehemently oppose adding women to registration for the military draft, as is currently required by the House-passed version of the National Defense Authorization Act.

Our defense policy should have a sole focus on the effectiveness of our troops ensuring military readiness, and taking all necessary policy measures to counter existing threats.

Women have served bravely and valiantly in combat, but service should remain their choice, not a federally mandated imperative. We are greatly disturbed that 135 Republican House Members voted in favor of this policy, and we urge Republican senators to emphatically oppose it.

Let us hope enough legislators get the message and stand up for what makes sense as well as what's right. If we should need to rapidly mobilize our military, the initial need will be for pure brawn. It'll be difficult enough to weed out unfit men. We won't need to expend resources to also weed out the majority of women who can't meet the rugged standards that will prevail.

Israel has done quite well with women serving in their military. If women want equality in this country, here is a chance to prove it. And being drafted does not automatically mean being sent to the battlefield.

Replying to

Then I don't want to hear any women complaining about inequality. Joe gets to be sent to the front while Josephine is home chilling.

Just another piece of the plan to weaken and undermine America.
