The Senate’s Democrat Majority Leader, Charles Schumer of New York, has given Republicans a Jan. 17 deadline to get on board with Democrats to pass their bill to federalize all future elections and institutionalize the practices that led to the questions about the 2020 presidential election, or he will call a vote to remove the Senate’s filibuster rule before the 2022 midterm elections.

Schumer’s threat is pure hypocrisy and another opportunity to put pressure on the Senate’s two off the reservation Democrats; Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Arizona’s Kyrsten Sinema.
The Republican National Committee’s research arm has released a highly informative memo and video report which lays bare the hypocrisy of the Democrats, particularly their leader Charles Schumer.
Here are a few of the highlights that you are unlikely to get from the establishment media:
"They want to make this country into a banana republic, where if you don't get your way, you change the rules," Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said in March 2005.
In 2020, Biden said he did not support “abolishing the legislative filibuster” because “it raises problems that are more damaging than the problem that exists.”
In 2019, Biden called ending the filibuster a “very dangerous thing to do.”
In 2005, Biden praised the “chance to filibuster,” called the “nuclear option” to weaken the filibuster an “arrogance of power,” and said eliminating the filibuster “would undermine the protections of a minority point of view” and have “long term consequences.”
Democrat Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO) in 2019 said he does not support eliminating the filibuster, saying that eliminating “mechanisms” like the 60-vote threshold “seems like a really bad answer” that would lead to “one-party rule.”
Sen. Richard Durbin (D-IL), the number two Democrat in the Senate said in 2018 getting rid of the filibuster would be the “end of the Senate as it was originally devised.”
In 2005, Durbin claimed that we need to use the filibuster to “preserve the voice of the minority in America” and “preserve checks and balances” as it is “about the rights of the American people.”
In 2020, Sen. Angus King of Maine said he was 100 percent opposed to eliminating the filibuster and did not foresee an end to the filibuster as “legislation is better when it has some bipartisan support.”
In 2005, Democrat Sen. Debbie Stabenow of Michigan called the filibuster a crucial check and balance to promote the “minority view” and criticized attempts to “change the rules of the game.”
Far Left Democrat Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey in 2019 said he would “personally resist efforts to get rid of” the filibuster and that “we should not be doing anything to mess with the strength of the filibuster.”
In 2005, Democrat Sen. Jack Reed of Rhode Island said that weakening the filibuster would “eviscerat[e]” the rights of the minority in the Senate.
In 2005, Democrat Sen Patrick Leahy of Vermont called the filibuster a “good thing” that promoted compromise and said he would fight against “one party rule.”
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) in 2021 said he is against eliminating the legislative filibuster: “I would be no on that.”
In 2021, Manchin agreed with a previous statement that he would “not be the 50th Democrat voting to end” the Senate filibuster.
In 2020, Manchin said he would “not” vote to end the filibuster: “I’m not going to vote for that.”
In 2020, Manchin said he would not vote to end the filibuster as it would “break the Senate.”
In 2017, 32 Democrat senators joined a bipartisan letter in urging the chamber to preserve the 60 vote threshold.

They say that the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.
So is the road to socialism.
Hear me out.
Who wouldn't want free healthcare? One answer is those that have it and still travel to foreign lands to get faster, better care when they really need it. (think heart transplant needed in Canada)
Free education? Sure...except what do those that already paid for it get? Lots of countries have free (or cheap) college and yet the enrollment in our universities from foreign students that pay a huge premium to gain an education here seems unabated.
Clean energy? Save the planet? Of course! Except...who can afford double the price at the pump? Solar for all? What about the landfill…
Because we have a two party system, the filibuster must stay. For the same reason, I think the House should adopt a filibuster type rule. If the Convention of States ever happens, I hope they add a constitutional ammendment that includes the filibuster.
One-party rule has always been the goal of Democrats. And the GOP actually seems to be perfectly content playing second fiddle to them.
The senators who would listen already know. The ones that would need to be told are already part of the "democratic socialist" brain trust. Time for the Separate States of America. Let the socialists create their dystopian paradise without us in it.
Why can't members of congress fight his moves to destroy our country ? When that answer is found, maybe we can boot him out before he does any more damage. We have to do something, if not we will lose our country.
