Enjoy Today’s Festivities… And Then Get Back To Work

CHQ Staff

We here at CHQ are not letting a little bit (well actually a lot) of cold weather stifle our celebration of President Trump’s Inauguration. We’ve got the big screen TVs set up, we’ve got the pizza and other treats ordered, and we have our best MAGA gear washed and

pressed in anticipation of the golden moment Donald J. Trump puts his hand on the Bible to be sworn in as our 47th President.

And the celebration and the fun won’t end there.

For those in the DC area there will be official and unofficial balls and gala dinners, and even outside DC many Republican and conservative organizations are throwing parties in parallel with the President’s traditional Inaugural Balls.

It’s a day when everyone who contributed to Doanld Trump’s victory should be joyful at the prospect that our country has been saved.

So, to all our conservative and MAGA grassroots warriors we say, “Take the day off… and then get back to work.”

Because Donald Trump’s return to the White House only gives us the prospect, not the guarantee, that all the harm Biden and the Democrats did over the past four years will be undone.

And the first order of business Tuesday morning is to get the Senate moving on confirming President Trump’s Cabinet and sub-cabinet nominees.

As of Sunday night, when this was written, only Senator Marco Rubio, President Trump’s nominee for Secretary of State, had any prospect of immediate confirmation by his Senate colleagues.

Every other nominee is a holding pattern, and that includes Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense, Pam Bondi, for Attorney General, Kristi Noem for Secretary of the Dept. of Homeland Security, John Ratcliffe for Director of the CIA, Marco Rubio for Secretary of State, Russ Vought for Director of the Office of Management and Budget, and Kash Patel for FBI Director, among others who have crucial national security portfolios in the new Trump administration.

Not only that, but other Cabinet and sub-cabinet nominees crucial to President Trump’s domestic policy agenda have yet to be scheduled for a confirmation vote, including Lee Zeldin to head the EPA, Scott Bessant to be Secretary of the Treasury, Sean Duffy to be Secretary of Transportation, Brooke Rollins to be Secretary of Agriculture along with a host of key sub-cabinet appointees, such as Bill Pulte as Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency.

So, today and tonight savor our hard-won victory, but come Tuesday morning, get that second cup of coffee down, and get back to work. The Capitol Switchboard is (202-224-3121), we urge CHQ readers and friends to call their Senators first thing Tuesday morning to demand they vote to confirm President Trump’s Cabinet and sub-cabinet nominees.
