When Democrat presidential nominee (she’s already been voted in, despite the party convention not even convening until Monday in Chicago) vice president cackling Kamala Harris inherited the leftist faction’s highest nomination for office a few weeks ago, Joe Biden’s right-hand woman probably figured she would eventually have to debate
Republican nominee Donald J. Trump.
The only question at the time was when, where, how (in terms of format) and which establishment media network would “sponsor” the event. Or, for all Harris knew, the moribund Commission on Presidential Debates could be hauled out of mothballs to organize the “traditional” head-to-head match-ups that had been the norm for every election cycle but this one in recent memory, the Washington ruling class group having been supplanted this year by the campaigns of president senile Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
Don’t forget that Trump said a few months back, “I’ll debate Joe anywhere, anytime”, throwing down the gauntlet to the enfeebled and visibly mentally deteriorating current president, possibly figuring that Biden wouldn’t dare agree to it. But then, facing polls which showed him sinking further and further behind Trump, senile Joe accepted the challenge and produced his now infamous “Make my day, pal!” social media video to make it seem that he wasn’t afraid to face off against the much more astute Trump in front of a national audience.
Two debates were scheduled, and Trump lobbied for a third one. The first, on Trump-hating CNN no less, was set for June 27. The second was to take place after the two party conventions (Republicans in mid-July, the Democrats’ in mid-August) and would be held before early voting started in some states, thus guaranteeing the public an occasion to have both candidates make their best arguments to be elected.
It was planned for September 10, on ABC.
The June 27th forum changed everything. For those with short memories, senile Joe Biden mumbled his answers, often stared blankly into the undefined distance, appeared to be completely out of it and had Democrats screaming at the walls – and each other – with many of them demanding that he step down and cede the presidential nomination to some other Democrat loser.
It took a few weeks, but after the Republicans’ highly successful convention, top Democrats leaned on poor ol’ Joe strong enough to convince him that he had to go. Perhaps as an afront to the Obamas – both of them – senile Joe endorsed his near-universally loathed DEI vice president to take his place. That’s how cackling Kamala went from running joke to the apex of the Democrat party within the span of a couple days.
Riding a wave of emotion from gleeful Democrats, cackling Kamala recognized that there was still the September 10 ABC debate on the calendar and began goading Trump to recommit to the forum even though Trump wanted changes made to the original plans since senile Joe was no longer in the picture. Trump wanted an audience added – and to have Fox News be the host on a new date, September 4.
Harris wouldn’t budge, and Trump finally accepted the September 10 event, realizing it would be to his sizeable advantage to be pitted against intellectual lightweight cackling Kamala. Trump further proposed to keep the September 4 date and to add a third get-together in late September, to be hosted by NBC News, neither of which has been given the okay by Kamala.
Trump now says he’ll show up even if Harris doesn’t. Brilliant tactics, wasn’t it? In an article titled “If Harris Declines, 2 Proposed Debates Will Become Trump Town Halls”, Janice Hisle reported at The Epoch Times earlier this week:
“The Republican presidential nominee and his Democrat opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, have both agreed to participate in a Sept. 10 debate on ABC News. This comes despite the former president’s concerns over a conflict of interest with the network, which faces a lawsuit in which Trump alleges the network defamed him.
“He is now waiting for Harris to accept two additional proposed debates—Sept. 4 on Fox News and Sept. 25 on NBC News.
“If she rejects those proposals, which Trump made during an Aug. 9 news conference, Trump will appear solo on those national TV networks, a Trump campaign adviser said. ‘I look forward to seeing Kamala at all three Debates!’ Trump said in an Aug. 11 post on his social media platform, Truth Social.”
In suggesting that he’d be at the host sites at the appointed time(s) whether cackling Kamala intended to show or not, Trump re-seized the initiative that he’d appeared to lose a couple weeks ago when he hesitated on agreeing to conduct the September 10 date he’d made with senile Joe Biden. As I recall, Trump didn’t specify why he objected to substituting Harris for Biden, but it hardly seems relevant now that everyone appears to be on the same page as far as that one goes.
Plus, by stating that he’d use the September 4 Fox News broadcast and the NBC News “show” on September 25 as Town Halls if they weren’t actual debates, Trump, once again, has all-but dared the new Democrat nominee to be there or… be square? No, not really. But it’s clear that Harris’s campaign is doing everything in its power to limit the exposure of the verbally hindered cackling Kamala.
She’s pathetic. Trump isn’t always the best at stringing thoughts together in his own unscripted public appearances, but a lifetime spent talking to the media has afforded him an unmatched ability to present themes and ideas in ways that people can understand them. Kamala Harris on the other hand? She’s a nimrod who practically freezes up after her pre-memorized responses are exhausted.
In her article, Hisle also relayed details on the other forums:
“The Sept. 4 Fox News debate or town hall would be aired live from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.“On Sept. 10, David Muir, anchor of ‘ABC World News Tonight,’ will serve as moderator for a confirmed showdown at Philadelphia’s Independence Hall.“On Sept. 25, NBC’s Lester Holt would moderate the proposed faceoff in Grand Rapids, Michigan.”
These locations ensure that Pennsylvania and Michigan will be ground zero for both campaigns, with both Republicans and Democrats dumping tens of millions into the Keystone and Wolverine States trying to squeeze out every vote possible. We can only hope the new leadership of the RNC learned the lessons from 2020 and will be better prepared for the micro-vote-counting battles within.
Beyond the logistics, it was genius for Trump and his campaign to secure assurances from Fox News and NBC to put aside the airtime for town halls if cackling Kamala is packed away somewhere hiding from the public eye next month on the 4th and 25th. There’s no doubt that Harris likely wishes to avoid another confrontation with NBC’s Lester Holt, he being the establishment media personality who arguably initiated Kamala’s credibility slide when trying to extract answers from her regarding her southern border/illegal immigration stewardship.
Holt: “You haven’t been to the border…?”
Kamala: “And I’ve never been to Europe. (cackles) I don’t understand the point that you’re making.” (relevant portion starts around 3:56)
The very thought of being confined to a stage with Holt once again asking her questions must give Harris nightmares, since he actually followed up her pre-rehearsed answers (“I’m down here discovering the root causes of migration”) with substantive retorts that required her to think on her feet and say something intelligible.
No such luck, Kamala. Similarly, the Democrat campaign brains must be running excuses for not agreeing to further debates past a focus group or other carefully “undecided” voters to see if she can bow out of the Trump challenge without damaging her poll standing.
Can you imagine Kamala Harris in a town hall debate format where the questions (supposedly) aren’t pre-screened and the citizen interrogators aren’t already in-the-tank for the Democrat nominee? Responses need to be both substantive and understandable, two areas that aren’t in Kamala’s proverbial debate wheelhouse.
Donald Trump, on the other hand, loves town hall formats and likely wouldn’t mind doing them every day if he had the opportunity. Most politicians love taking questions from regular voters. Recall how Mitt Romney’s motto was “Ask Mitt anything”, which occasionally got the candidate in hot water when he received a topic he wasn’t prepared to address.
Under the glaring lights of a presidential candidacy, the heat is that much greater. Trump has never encountered a subject he was afraid to tackle. The lifelong real estate developer turned-first-time-politician-turned-president of the United States turned return-from-the-dead (almost literally) 2024 GOP nominee understands public relations. He’s not condescending like Kamala and the Democrats.
Trump is his biggest asset and the more he’s seen and reiterates his agenda, the better it will be. Engaging with cackling Kamala in a debate is desirable because it would draw tens of millions of viewers, but his message alone will produce benefits as the final months go by and Harris and Walz have to crawl out of their media-imposed shells to actually talk about what they’d do if elected.
Trump fatigue is definitely real and the Democrats are reaping the harvest of “freshness” in the two-year long presidential race, but political trends are rarely permanent and, let’s not forget, that just a month ago Kamala Harris was even more unpopular – in terms of favorability ratings – than senile Joe Biden was.
The more that is known about her, the deeper she’ll sink in horserace polls. She’s a terrible candidate without much political talent. Trump is Trump – and if he can stay on message, he’ll be in good shape going into the voting “season”.
Americans will most definitely relish an opportunity to see both Trump and cackling Kamala on the same debate stage – hopefully more than once. But even better news is that Trump reversed a negative – saying he might not debate – by proposing to have the two candidates meet at three different times and places. More chances to expose the Democrats for the frauds that they are.

I doubt that the Cacklemaniac will debate Trump any more than she absolutely must. She and her bosses Fuehrer Barry the Fairy Obama and Komrade George Soros know full well that Trump will wipe the floor with her and never even break a sweat.
The only thing for Trump is to avoid coming off as some sort of nasty woman hater. No matter what he does, Harris supporters, including a lot of legacy media, will claim that he's a woman hater and was nasty toward Kamala during the debate. Whether their argument will prevail or not, it will pursuade some of those vaunted "on the fence" voters. Be gentle Donald.
